[ROM] Galnet MIUI ICS (2.1.6, Stable) for Droid x - RootzWiki

Any one using this? It's been around for awhile now. I'm going to flash it tonight or tomorrow.

(I read the camera works, just usual focus problem)

This is GB with ICS framework, continuation of Aceoyame's work.

This is what I used to update from GB MIUI (2012.1.8), except I did not wipe data:

Open terminal
type:

su
cat.jpg

menu... close window
Open Rom Manager, boot into recovery

1-
format cache, format Dalvik cache
2-mount and format system
3-mount system and install

No issues so far, but haven't played with it much yet. It does seem faster tho.

Email is 10x faster.

i'm still on 1.12.9... everything has been working great for weeks (except for rebooting at random every couple of days...)

is the upgrade to ICS so fantastic i should spend the time to update?
also, when i click on the MIUI update app, it doesn't show this version... que pasa?

Like other roms, there are (and were) several versions of MIUI.

The newer ones are based on Gingerbread. There are two popular ones of which one is based on MIUI.US (yours) and this one is based on the German version, Galnet. This one has the ICS framework, otherwise is still a GB rom. The other one is based on GB code. With a locked bootloader, I doubt you'll see a 100% ICS rom for the X.

The original MIUI with ICS framework was developed by Aceoyame, who passed his code on to the developer of this version (BeansTown106). It appears that the developer of the other version (Wizard0f0s) is working with this one (with Ace even contributing) so this might be the build to watch.

The MIUI.US rom shows up in Rom Manager and is not the same as this one.

I think it's much faster than the MIUI.US rom.

Like usual, make a recovery backup before installing and you can always go back if you don't like this one.
