Default How to Clear Contacts History??

In the contacts where u can view the HISTORY, A-Z, STATUS

Anyone know how to clear the history? It shows the history of every single thing about every contact you have.

I've been at it for a good part of the day and can't find anything

Try "historyeraser" from the market. It's an EASY way to do it.

Already tried that, historyeraser doesn't find that specific thing to erase

My biggest things would be txt message history and like facebook conversation history, that all shows up

I tried going directly to your contact, and then going into that specific contacts history, and you can not clear that either.

Also to note, deleting the actual messages from txt or whatever, do not remove it from the history.

This is very annoying

Yes, I would also like to know how this is achievable. It is annoying as this puppy can build up over time.

Anyone? (I'm assuming future software patch?)

I just got my first android based phone yesterday (droid x) and I noticed this as well. I tried just about everything including various applications and nothing seems to take care of this. Like you said it's very annoying. Someone please help!

According to Motorola support, this is not possible. The Contacts History section cannot be deleted/cleared.

I'm sure if enough people requested it, they could add the feature.

FYI, you can contact Moto via live chat here:

This is a very bad thing for those people who regularly cheat on their girlfriends

I just got off the live chat and they told me the same thing, no way to clear it. They said the only thing you can do is delete the contact itself. Horse Manure!!

You can delete the contacts, that's not what we're talking about. What you can't delete is the history of conversations you've had with your contacts. The only way to delete that history, is to delete that saved contact. You can of course immediately put the contact back in your phone.

This only happens with numbers that you have saved as a contact. It does not keep a history for random unsaved numbers that you talk with.

I went to a Verizon store on Sat (got the phone Friday) dealt with two techs and they couldn't help. Called Verizon on Monday, they too couldn't help. Ordered a new phone to replace it, but Verizon was trying to look further into, as they did that, I fell more in love with the phone which is a HUGE issue because I am someone who constantly needs to delete text and call history. I too have noticed that the only way to do it is to delete the contact and then re-enter them. This just isn't practical.
Spoke with Motorola today via chat (Thank you NKT) This was their response:

Shem: we have been gathering feedback directly from our end users so that we can further improve the features of the phone. Rest assured that your feedback will not be left unnoticed.
Shem: Hopefully the 2.2 update that is coming soon will also address that.

I just did the update from yesterday (7/19/2010) with version 1.13.604. but it's a 2.1 firmware version.. So hopefully this 2.2 comes out very soon. However when I asked for an approximate date for release, this was I was told:

Shem: I would be happy to tell you if I have that information. Since we have not received any official advisory, I'd rather not to give any comment on the exact date because I do not want to set false expectation.

I guess I'm understanding that he doesn't know.. But I'm not understanding to this being an issue to begin with.

Has anyone figured out the solution to this problem? I chatted with moto today and it doesn't look as if they've resolved it yet. Thanks for any help.

Default Deleting Contact history

It's pretty simple actually. Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - hit the options button - filter by "All" - Scroll down to "LogsProvider" - Clear Data.
That's it really.
But do note this will clear all your history. Call, facebook, message, tweets, everything. But i guess thats what we intend to do.

I've posted this in here a couple times already:

-open Contacts(from APP FOLDER!!) It makes a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-swipe the screen to the right(with your finger). Red dot at top needs to be all the way to the left.
-menu button
-Clear history
-Clear

Easy as can be.
