Default Droid X support for multiple exchange

My wife just got the Droid Inc, which was my first experience with the android os nd I have to say, wow! I love it! My only issue is the Droid Inc doesn't support more than one exchange accounts and I have 6. I have read that the original Droid did support multiple exchange accounts, but haven't seen if the droid x does or not. Before I go through the trouble of ordering one and waiting on it to come in, can anybody confirm or deny if the droid x does support multiple exchange account and if so, is there a limit to that number.

Thanks,
Jordon

Anybody? If you have a Droid X that is setup on an Exchange server, can you attempt to see if it will allow you to setup a second one?

Thanks in advance!

I only have one exchange account but it is letting me go through the process of adding another one, so I think it would work.

Awesome! The Droid Inc won't even allow you to go through the process of setting up a second one, so I know it won't work. Might go ahead and try the X.

Thanks,
Jordon

Sorry I couldn't 100 percent confirm one way or another, I was trying to think of peoples passwords I set at work the other day to try this out with, but sadly I couldn't think of their user names. lol

I'll try to remember on Monday and I know I can get a second account to try with.

What's nice is it also syncs contact subfolders. Most phones don't. We have shared folders so that anyone can make changes and everyone gets the changes. I have the master folders so I just need to see if the other users see them too on their phones. I'm waiting on a second X to test.

Neither of the Inc's we have can see the subfolders in any case so I have to use a special sync app to sync the contacts to the regular Contacts folder. The Ally also doesn't see sub folders. I haven't tried the Eris but I assume it is like the Inc. None of our WM phones or BB do either.

I have my THREE Exchange accounts setup and syncing. As well as TWO gmail accounts. On my wifes phone, her contacts sync to gmail and her exchange account with the exchange calander. On MY phone I have a gmail account for just email, and my calander and work mail sync off of Exchange. The versitility is amazing. If you have several Exchange accounts draw a small flowchart and configure the phone on paper first. It'll give you a clear picture of what you need. Also remember, PUSH works great and it helps to be in a wifi zone when you do you Exchange setup.

PLEASE!! Backup your existing exchange account BEFORE you screw with setting up your phone. Just in case the phone starts to delete you account on your PC. Better to be safe than in the Emergency Room.

I've got four exchange accounts working on my X. I dislike that they don't use the stock android client and now when I look at my "Universal Inbox" there's no color coding to tell me which mailbox the message is in. Since three out of the four mailboxes are "shared" I can't tell at a glance where the user sent the email (to me directly, or to the shared box.)

Once you open the email you can tell who it was sent to by clicking a small icon at the top, but it's an extra hassle.

Text is much larger and easier to read on the X tho... my original Droid seems so small and tiny now. It's still working over wifi.

I'm hoping they make some interface enhancements with the Froyo upgrade later this summer.

Thank you all for the information!!! Order has been placed and now the waiting begins!!! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I've been using a Blackberry since the 7250, if anybody can remember way back then :-) There are only like 2 blackberry models that Verizon has carried that I haven't had. I guess it's time for a change!

Once again, thanks everybody!

Plus 1,000,000

Can we please get the option to run on plain Froyo? PLEASE.

I don't really care about the "Motorola Widgets".

The Combined Inbox is a step backward compared to the original Droid.

Default Cannot connect to two different exchange servers

I was told by Verizon that you cannot connect to two different exchange servers. I had two exchange accounts on my phone that pinged to the same excahnge server (just different accounts) and my DroidX worked great. My work is migrating our accounts to a new server so now one account is on one server and the other on a different server and I cannot access both on my phone now. (This is true even using Touchdown for one account.) I can access both email accounts okay and contacts, but only get post data on one calendar and current data on the other calendar. Obviously I need up to date calendars from both accounts.

I am hoping Verizon is wrong and there is a work around for this, please share any ideas or thoughts on this one if you have any or know of any patches. Thanks in advance

Any update on this? I'd like to be prepared when I replace my Droid Eris, which currently cannot handle more than 1 exchange connection.

I have three exchange accounts configured but they are all on the same server coincidently. I have multiple ones because we share contacts. Its really nice havingreal time updates to all devices that way. In outlook we just share the contact folder to each user.

Barren,
I don't know about the Droid Eris, but the Droid X worked perfect. I had 6 Exchange accounts on it and it worked great. My wife's Droid Incredible will only support 1 Exchange account for some reason.
