Default How do you transfer vids to the computer?

I just took a couple vids, and I need to import them to Movie Maker so I can edit and paste them together. How do I get the vids off the phone? And can I change the file format from 3gp to wmv or something?

I figured this out!

You need to connect your phone to your computer first. Software will automatically install on XP/Vista, for 7 I don't know, after the software has been installed, and windows reports your device is ready to use, some Verizon stuff comes up, ignore this and closes the pop ups.

Pull down the top bar on your phone, and tap the USB connection, you should have 4 options, the only 2 that matter, are "Charge only" and "USB Mass Storage." Set it to USB Mass Storage. (Charge only ... only charges your phone.)

You should now see an extra drive (like a flash drive) in your "My Computer." Open the drive. Open "dcim" folder. Open "Camera" folder. You should now see all the photos and videos that you have taken. (note all your downloads and application data are also stored in other folders, don't mess with them, or you may cripple your apps.)

Videos are *.3gp files. To convert them to AVI, MP4, or others look for a free 3gp converter (google it) or you can use a player that supports 3gp files.

If you wanted to put music on your phone, open the drive and goto the "Album" folder, paste all the mp3 albums you want in here. You can even make them ring tones using the music widget. Open the play list. Begin playing the song you want to be your ring tone. Press "menu", select "use as ring tone." it will now be your default ring tone!

I tried downloading a converter last night but it didn't work. The search is on for a good one that does work. If you've got a good link, post it up.

I use Format Factory - Free media file format converter for ALL my conversion needs. Great, powerful little program.
