I also cannot get through a Quadrant test before it blacks out for good till I reset..
And my Android Market says an error has occurred Please try later every time I start it
so far they all work now after the restore (minus the Tesla app- maybe a compatibility issue with the app since other ppl have this issue too besides us), let's see if they still work after I do a Titanium restore...
i had this happen earlier too, i just did a reboot and its been fine since. I didn't have to plug in or anything.
Is it still working? Mine works for about 10 minutes after a reboot then starts force closing. Very frustrating and really don't want to do a factory reset. Besides are we 100% sure that a factory reset fixes this problem?
Just an FYI, after it was working after my factory restore, it eventually started doing it again.
I'd say it happens about 50% of the times I try to go into it. So how can we fix this? It's hard to believe that not everyone will have this issue at some point since we are all using the same rom.
As far as I'm concerned it's random when it wants to work or not :P I can't find any set instance to make it crash or not. It is pretty friggin sweet when it wants to work though. Now I can get rid of SystemPanel Lite since it seems to have issues ending some tasks now.

This is really frustrating the heck out of me as this is the only problem I am having with 2.2. Everything else is perfect, but this one little bug is like the thorn in my side!
Does everyone that has this problem confirm or deny if they have the battery left widget? Just saw over at MyDroidLife that someone is saying they fixed this problem by removing that widget. I am testing now.
<EDIT>
Close to an hour later and is still no problems with the BM. Really starting to think it might have been the battery left widget.
<EDIT>
Still happening

It's the same with me... sometimes it'll work, sometimes it'll FC. At this point, I cannot detect a pattern. Obviously, there has to be something tripping it up under certain conditions. But before we can try to fix it, we need to know what those conditions are!
I had this issue on my first 2.2 install. I've since sbf'd, rerooted using birdman's guide, and update.zip'd. I haven't had this issue since reinstalling. I've had 1 or 2 instances of LauncherPro hanging at boot, but that hasn't been an issue lately.
Bump to the top. I updated to 2.2 the morning it was released. Other than that i keep my phone pretty stock. I have root and all original programs. I deleted Battery Left Widget but still have this problem. Mine is almost 80% force close and 20% working.
I'm loving froyo but this is pretty much the only issue I have. It was perfectly fine yesterday, but its come back this morning. I think it may have something to do with the level of battery-- I only see it when my battery is full, like 90% and up. It could be that the program force closes when theres nothing to measure or its uncertain of the percentages of what is affecting the battery.
I'm rooted on the DX. Updated to 2.2. Getting a FC error when checking battery usage. It's pretty hit or miss on mine. I've noticed that if I connect either via USB at Charge Only or AC adapter then disconnect I can open the usage status if I do so immediatlely. If I wait a short period of time and try it no longer works. But that's not the case every time. It's very sporadic.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Everything else works fine by the way. One thing I have not tried is a full charge and rundown of the battery since I've upgraded to 2.2. Not sure if that will help but I'm out of ideas over here.
Seems that this only works when it wants to. I guess it wouldn't be verizon if there wasnt at least one thing jacked up on the phone. I've been through 4 x's now, everything from non working camera to non functioning microphone.
When I got my last one via fed ex, the driver kinda laughed and said that verizon, more specifically, verizon replacements, is one of their largest accounts.
I honestly don't think there is ANY quality control. Otherwise, how could they send out a phone with a non working camera (total black screen), and a phone that clearly had a non working microphone...
Obviously, I expected customer service to go downhill as they become more of a monopoly, that's econ.101. But constantly replacing phones just because their quality control sucks has got to be affecting their bottom line.
I know this post kinda goes off on a tangent, and should likely get its own thread.
I'd love to hear about other cases where big v has dropped the ball.
Do a full cache partition wipe (not just a cache clear of the Battery Manager App).
1. Hold the "home" button while powering on your phone
2. Keep holding "home" until the little android guy comes up with an "!"
3. Hit the search button to bring up the menu
4. Use the up/down volume rocker keys to navigate the menu. Go to wipe cache partition
5. Use the camera button to select
6. Once that completes, reboot the phone through the menu option
I never had this issue until today, and that was after I rooted my phone.
I'm not rooted at the moment and I have the same problem. I've tried doing a full cache partition wipe, I cleared the cache under the Battery Manager App and have done factory resets. It works for a little while but it always seems to come back but then it works again after a couple of tries. Weird.

Tell me about it. I've been through 3 or 4 phones already.. Some had the earpiece buzz, some had dead pixels and another had bad audio in my recorded videos. Plus, on top of that, Verizon sent me an Incredible by accident and 2 refurbs when they promised that they would be brand new. Im actually waiting for the fedex truck now hoping to finally get a perfect condition X.
Maybe if they actually put enough bubble wrap in those Fedex boxes I wouldnt be having those problems. Their shipping department sucks.
Oh well.. The X is the only phone I want at the moment, so it is what it is, I guess.

I did the data wipe and things have improved. Upon reboot I can no longer get the Status. I need to once again plug it into my computer, wait a min then unplug it.
Now it seems to last until the battery dies, or until I reboot the phone. Then the problem is back. Also I'm rooted.

Well I've read all this stuff about people plugging it in, unplugging etc and that it happens when the phone has been unplugged. At first I thought they just meant plugging the phone into a pc for charging etc, but apparently its happening with wall charging too.
I still wonder if its something with the pc plug in. I never had a fc with the battery manager until I rooted, and THAT was the first time this phone was ever plugged into a pc.

You know, come to think of it...mine only force closes after I've had it plugged into the pc. Reboot, it corrects it's self, and stays corrected until I plug it into a puter again.
Wall charging does not cause the FC for me.

Are you rooted?
I'm rooted now, but I've not been able to get into my battery manager all day today. Just charged via the wall charger last night.

battery manager not working OTA 2.2
For the last 2 days battery manager has not been working, here's a screenshot of what it says when I attempt to open it, any ideas how to fix it? And yes, I have done about 3 reboots
Rebooting usually works for me. I've found no other way to clear up this issue. Very very annoying for sure. More annoying is the fact that the time unplugged is reset upon reboot making any chance at calculating average battery time a guessing game.

Rebooting doesn't work for me, I tried once yesterday and twice today. the best part is that they disabled task killers, now we have no way to control those pesky apps

I've tried all of these fixes as well. Battery manager quit working after the 2.2 OTA before I rooted my DX and continues after the root. It's extremely annoying.
I did a COMPLETE wipe of my phone, SD card, EVERYTHING. I turned off auto backup and restore and rebuilt my apps and such from scratch without Launcher Pro (I'm waiting until he re-writes it) or any 3rd party widgets except Weatherbug. I'm still 100% stock blur... I still get the battery details force close when I have recently unplugged. I'm assuming at this point it is a bug because I only need a few minutes of usage and the FC won't happen ever again until I try it RIGHT AFTER I unplug it...
