Default How to automatically shrink photos/videos when emailing?

So I recently got a Droid X which I love, but I am having a really tough time emailing photos and videos.

I'm looking for something that will automatically shrink photo's when I want to email them. The iPhone does this automatically. I am constantly sending pics of my kids to my parents but at 2.5 MB per pic it take WAY too long to send (if the email client even allows it).

I am aware that I can resize each and every photo and THEN send them, but that seems very time consuming and unnecessary. Is there anything that will automatically shrink photo's when I attempt to email multiple pics?

Thanks!

Welcome to Android Forums, gulbane.

I've moved your question to the Droid X forums Support area for you where you're more likely to get responses from other X users than in the generic Android Lounge.

I have a Photobucket account, and I downloaded the Photobucket app. I have it set up to automatically upload every picture that I take, then from the app I can email a link to the photo to whomever I want, with no size limitations at all.
I like doing it this way because just in case anything happens to my phone, like losing it or it getting stolen, I will still have all of my pictures saved on Photobucket's servers, or "in the cloud" as some would say.
There may be other photo storing services available to you through The Market, I only mentioned Photobucket because I had an account with then before I owned my Droid X so I stayed with it.
There is an app in the Market called Reduce Photo Size that might be what your l looking for, it doesn't look like it automatically does the job as you asked about, but it's a start.

Good luck with your new Droid X, you may find that while the iPhone used to do things for you automatically, which in my opinion is just "dumbing it down" and goes against all that a smartphone is supposed to be, you will come to like the freedom of having options of what to do with your phone.

My Droid X peompts me when a file is to large to email or MMS then ask if I want to resize it. It will resize and send.

Very strange, my DX does not. If you are sending 3 or 4 2.5MB photo's it prompts you to shrink? This only happens for me using MMS...but not email (gmail specifically).

Is there a setting that could be wrong on mine?

Ok I just checked my Droid X and it does not resize for any email account. It does prompt you to resize if you are sending a MMS. If you let it resize it will then ask you if you want to save the modified file. If you save the modified file using another name so you don't overright the original file then you can email that file.
