Default Ringtones and Notifications missing

I have one ringtone and one notification tone on my sd card in the files: Media/audio/ringtones and media/audio/notifications and neither shows on the lists when I try to change tones. Both show as MP3s when I look at the card through file access eithr through the phone or by way of USB on the PC. What could I have done wrong?

I downloaded them through the application ARU Ringtones and both were set just fine but if I change to another tone I cannot change back because they are not on the list. This has nothing to do with the recent update because they weren't there before or after that.

I am lost.

I had not tried that so thanks. After rebooting it picked up the ringtone but I still don't see the notification tone. I have checked the spelling of the file name and that is correct assuming the file structure is as I indicated above.

I went into the file and renamed the MP3 file and somehow that did the trick. I originally had a 3 word name and changed it to one word. Maybe thats what did it, maybe just accessing it did it. Who knows but it works now. Thanks for the reboot tip.
