I have the same problem since the last Verizon update to my Droid X. I know this is going to sound strange, but I was desperate. Go into Messaging, then "Manage Accounts" in the menu, and select your corporate sync account. Uncheck (yes, uncheck) "Contacts" and your corporate contacts should come back.
As a check, I checked "Contacts" and sure enough my corporate sync contacts disappeared again, so I again unchecked "Contacts" and now they are back.
Weird.
