Default Yahoo messenger photo send/receive issues

Hello all, new to the posting side of this forum but been a fan for a while.
First, let say the people on this forum rock. I personally have learned a great deal from this forum and i'm sure I will continue to.
Second, I have searched many threads on the forum in search of my issues in hopes of finding the problem, have not come across any solutions. So my issue is this. I'm not able to send/receive photos to/from others via Yahoo messenger. I'm am currently without a OS cause i'm in a boot loop, but no problems I can fix that when I get home. I was on Froyo 2.2 via SBF files. I downloaded Yahoo messenger in the market and every aspect of messenger works fine except for TX/RX pictures. When I send a pic it tells the recipent on their end, that I cancelled the file, when I have not. When they send me a file (pic) it tells me that there was an unexpected error. I totally wiped the phone,cleared/reset the phone and cleared the cache, reinstalled the sbf, still doesn't work. I later installed GB 2.3 via the 2 zip files (sorry don't remember the actual names of the files) did the same steps as I did with Froyo and still no workie. At one point (and now I don't remember if I was on Froyo or GB) I had it working...kinda. I had zero apps just Y.M. installed. I created a fake account with Y.M and was able to send and receive pics back and forth between my Droid X and my computer. Thought I had fix my problem but still not able to TX/RX pictures to others on their phones. The receiving phones are Blackberry and I think a Samsung..something. Not sure. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again for all your help. Now back to searching the Forum for an answer.
p.s.
I have tried both Rooted and non rooted on both Froyo and GB also
