Default Handcent & Droid X Notifications No Longer Working

I'm getting the same issue..it's frustrating me to no end...I've got the Droid X, stock OS 2.3.3, and Handcent has just stopped notifying me I've got texts. All my notifications are correctly set and nothing has changed, however I get no alert in the notification bar, by sound, vibration OR popup that I've gotten a new message. I can only see it when I open the app itself for the message list.

Tried clearing cache and even uninstalling the whole app...very frustrating.

Moved to support.

Make sure you haven't turned off sync or background sync. Settings... battery & data manager... data delivery. Top 3 data check boxes should be checked.
