Default Send and Receive Texts Via Computer

Is there any apps, or any way to send and receive text messages via a computer, either through bluetooth or having the data cable connected?

This may not be the answer you are looking for but:

You can email 2115551212@vtext.com where 211-555-1212 is your mobile phone as long as you are on Verizon. You can type in email addresses in lieu of the phone number in the SMS messaging to send to an email address.

Google Voice functions that way (if you're in the US), or Remote Web Desktop

I found MightyText, it's working ALOT better than DeskSMS. It's great so far
