When transferring phonebook to BMW only the numbers are transferred. I have over 1600 Contacts on my droidx and it is synchronized with my companies exchange server

Sounds like a BMW s/w problem.

I'd suggest finding a BMW forum to ask about this on. There are probably going to be more BMW owners with Android phones there having this same problem there than there are Android users here that have BMWs. But no reason you can't keep posting here too, welcome to the forums!

Thanks for posting this issue. I have the same problem.

When I was at the dealership today, I was shown a 528i. The rep and I connected my Android phone as a demo of its voice dialing capabilities. My phone connected w/o issue...and also enabled my phone contacts (names AND numbers) to be properly imported, and allowed for voice dialing of my contact list.

However, regarding the 528i that I just drove home, I just noticed the same problem you are having. I will re-post any resolutions or fixes that I discover.

FYI -
I was able to connect the Audio from my Android without issue to the BMW 5 series via bluetooth which was VERY nice. I previously had to use the Aux connection with another car. For the 528i I went under TELEPHONE and then pressed the OPTIONS button next to the iDrive wheel selector. There I found the option to connect the Audio etc. Hope this helps someone.

After connecting via Bluetooth... I simply rebooted my phone while the car was running. This fixed the problem. My Android contacts loaded without issue....numbers, names, and without any limitations as to number of entries, of which I have 200 ish.

Anyhow... Hope this helps 2012 BMW 528i owners with their bluetooth connection problems regarding contacts and phonebook, etc.
