Default Droid X Liberty ROM Keeps Freezing

Hi Guys,

I've been dealing with this issue for some time now, and it literally makes me want to throw my phone against a brick wall. I've been having an issue where my phone freezes about every 3 or 4 minutes. Sometimes it will go awhile, but typically it freezes very often.

Let me be more specific about the freezing aspect. It does this in various ways. Sometimes It will start by trying to open an application, it will open up an app and then straight up freeze. No FC, nothing. Sometimes it will happen when trying to reboot or power off phone, I will hold the power button, be presented with the power options, click one... frozen. The last thing that it will do is like a "Black screen of death". The phone will allow me to put it to sleep, but upon wake up... the screen stays black, but the buttons will backlight... All of these issues occur, but they don't all happen at the same time.

I've done about everything known to myself to try and fix this issue. I've changed from Liberty3 v1.0 to v2.0, I've been through .596 to .605 and everywhere in between, I've reflashed multiple times, cleared data, wiped cache, fixed permissions, sbf to stock... I mean the list goes on.

I am currently running .605 with Liberty3 v1.0 as well as using LauncherPro Plus. Do you think that the issue has to do with LauncherPro?! Am I doing something stupid?! Could it be the extended Verizon battery I use?! Any assistance, or knowledge in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

It could very well be LPP if you had that running on all those ROMs. LPP hasn't been updated since the Froyo days.

Also, have you overclocked or done anything like that?

I've always had in the back of my mind that it was LPP. It seems like the likely culprit. I had LPP running on a very old version of Liberty, back when I was using Froyo and never had an issue at all. But since the OTA to GB, I've seen nothing but issues. I could possibly SBF back to Froyo, but haven't done so, for troubleshooting purposes.

I may have to give up on my LPP, even though I love it dearly. I've been using it since the day I got my DX, so it's hard to get rid of.

I've never overclocked, although I do have the Android Overclock(I believe it's the JRummy one) paid and downloaded. I've rummaged through the settings in the Overclock area but have never changed or modified anything.

Yeah, I jumped onto LPP pretty early on and tried to stick with it, but Fede seems to have given up on it. I'm running Go now and can't think of anything that LPP could do that Go can't. It also seems to run fine on Liberty3 v2.0.

Awesome, Yea I really like Liberty3 v2.0 , but it seemed to freeze much more often than v1.0 . That's why I ended up flashing it back over. I will check out Go and see how it looks/works.

Thanks for your input!
