Default Droid X refuses to stay powered off while charging

So, my Droid X is doing something funny today. I can normally charge it while it is powered off. However, today the battery completely died. Now it turns itself on every time it gets enough juice in the battery to do so (i.e. the green light goes off.) This is bad. As soon as it boots up to the lock screen the battery runs out of juice and it dies again. There's not even enough time for me to make it shut-down properly. Now it is stuck in this horrible cycle. I am using my computer's USB port to charge it.

Any ideas?

Solved! It happened because I was using my computer to charge it. Plugged it into my car charger and it showed the battery charging screen.
