Haha idk if it's necessarily a secret or not, but if he wanted people to know he probably would have posted something. I'm sure he doesn't want people bugging him for updates and such.
Yes, I have crm9 building from source and booting up. Right now thats about all it does is boot up. You get a boot animation and then the launcher. If you wait a while, the screen goes off and you get the lock screen. Touchscreen works poorly, all the buttons work, no wifi, no audio, no bluetooth, no phone.
There are no screenshots because, well, it looks identical to any other cm9 right when you boot it up. There is no download link because I'm not about to upload several hundred MB if data just to prove that it kinda works.

Is there a reason you chose CM9 over CM10? Stability?
True, it is exciting that any of our source built ROMs are booting, but you have to understand that it is just a small victory and a first step. Getting everything working is likely going to be a battle and as seen with many CM builds, sometimes even as hard as devs may try, not everything ends up working.

Monkey sticks his hand in cookie jar to grab a fist jam packed full of cookies, so he can't pull his hand out....so he keeps beating the jar against his mouth.
I chose cm9 over 10 because cm9 is frozen. That means the people making it have decided that it is super stable and working really great. They are not adding new features because all the current ones work right. Getting any version of cm is going to be a lot of work and I would rather work on getting the super-stable version going on our phone. It would suck really bad to get cm10 working only to find out that we have to wait anyways on some upstream bugs to get fixed before our camera and bluetooth will work or something like that.
the only thing in my cm10 build that doesn't work is video camera. everything else is pretty solid,so cm9 should be about the same. aokp is solid also. it has same video recording problems as cm9/10. to me the video issue is minor. so I would assume any build of 9 for optimus elite should be about the same in functionality.

Usually, each device is different and has its own unique issues, unless they have the same/similar boards and components.

I meant along the lines of cm/aokp themselves being stable enough to bring to the device. I'm sure there will be all sorts of hurdles in the area of device specific issues.

it may be hard, but i beleive giantpune will figure it out, this phone was my first hack. since then i have rooted 7 different phones, jailbroke a ps3, plenty of iphone ipads and ipods, almost attempted a kamakzee hack on my xbox but wussed out... and 2 wiis, along the way of learning how to hack i have seen giantpunes name more then once, i beleive on a wii message board so i'm pretty sure this guy is a genius. and motivated me to become a hacking junkie... i cant stop, i have to hack everything i get my hands on.
that being said thank you giantpune not only for all the work you have done on this phone but for all the free and open work you have done for so many people and im sure you dont get thanked enough for your hard work you do not only on this device but many others
Also... not trying to impose on anyone but Drew did say he was working on cm10 i know its not cm9 and i do not know if he has even started or made any progress but it might be worth checking in on, especially if he could possibly help with the cm9 build and help work out the bugs.
that would be for a topic on a playstation forum not here. lol
i would help you if i knew, i have not done it yet because i dont really play ps3 much because most my friends play xbox i have not even attempted it yet, i do know you need stealth firmware and you need to rename homebrew to Call of duty or something so people will not see you are on homebrew, just google it im sure you will find it.
but seriously, i dont even think this talk is aloud on this forum, or at least piracy, lets stay on topic this forum is for our phone, did not mean to start up a convo about ps3 lol

I think he means it isn't stock.
The Cyanogen team makes changes and improvements to what Google has done, with the build(s) that Google provides. It is actual Jellybean, just modified. But no, it isn't "stock" Jellybean. There's a difference.
