Too bad any one wanting the dock can't use this but this is certainly a better option than the dock is I believe. I like the form of it as well.

Interesting... I did some measurements and it's not even as bulky as it seems. These extended batteries (i'm going off the 2800mah one) is barely thicker then a stock Epic with a Seido Innocase on.

Guess I'm a no-go. The 1600mah isn't a large enough difference for me to even consider it.

Oh well.

Sorry for the incorrect information, but our Spring-Clip Holster is compatible with our extended batteries for the Epic.

Thanks SeidioSeidio. I don't know if I'm willing to spend 100 more for this when I've already spent money on the innocase and holster.

Does the 1600 fit in the original case? Just how much of a difference would using that make over the stock battery (let's say I get about 6 hours per day of use from the stock battery now)? Looking for the most power that will fit in the stock case.

The Innocell 1600mAh Extended Life Battery does fit in the original case. The amount of extra battery you would get would vary based on your usage patterns and phone settings.

Does Seidio have any plans to make an extended innocase that fits the 3000mAh Epic 4g battery?

If I am getting about six hours out of the stock battery, how much can I expect to get out of the 1600 battery with the same usage patterns and phone settings? How about even an approximate answer?

I just got mine delivered last night and charged it overnight. It adds about the width of a pencil to the back. It fits in the belt clip holster I got from Sprint as the edges and top match the shape of the original back. I charged it 8 hours last night as the instructions recommended and I will let you know how long it lasts under normal usage. The back cover was a little difficult to install on the sides but after a little trial and error I got it installed and it fits very well.

Mine came yesterday. I charged it for 9 hours before using the phone. After a few cycles I'll comment on the battery life.

The back cover looks nice-has some shape to it that keeps the phone from looking like a brick. One thing I do want to say is that the back cover is not easy to get on right. It takes some effort. Also I don't think it fits quite as well as the stock epic back cover. The stock cover is virtually seemless and the Seido cover doesn't seem as perfect of a fit. The seido cover does have a tab to help keep the SD card in place just like the stock cover.

I got mine last night as well. So far, I'm very impressed. I have a battery percentage calculator and by 5pm (8 hours off the charger) I usually have 30% battery left, but with this battery it says I have 68% battery left. I've heard it only gets better with a few more charge cycles.

So far, this is definitely a good purchase! I used the 20% off promotion this week and it only ended up costing me around $55. I also have the spring-clip holster, and it still fits quite well. Also, like previously stated, the back has a stylish shape to it, so it doesn't look like a brick.

I tried to attach some pictures, but I kept getting an error.

Edit:

How much thicker does the phone feel? I think it'll be like .9" thick with the extended battery installed, can it still fit in your pocket?

It will still fit in my pocket. It bulges out a bit more, but that doesn't bother me. It actually feels good in the hand and I feel like it grips a bit better.

I'm definitely interested in a battery in between the stock one and the huge one.

First full charge: unplugged Friday 6:30am and lasted until Sunday 5:30pm. Moderate use. Pretty much double the stock battery time.

Edit: I'm giving Seido a poor grade for the replacement cover. It is very VERY difficult to get on correctly, to the point of having to manhandle the phone to get it to snap on. And even when it's on there is still some noticable sloppyness in the fit. Very disappointing to me.

A mid range battery would be great! If it just adds a little bit more thickness, that would be ideal.

Default Got my battery and cover

Not impressed. The cover is a pain in the A** to put on. Once finally all the tabs were clicked in the phone would turn off after 15 seconds only to turn back on again. Partially separating the tabs on the right side seemed to fix things but the cover is not properly seated anymore.

Anyone else having the same issue once the cover is completely snapped in of having their epic turn off only to turn back on again... I know its not a phone or software issue since once I pop the cover off or go back to the stock cover the issue goes away.

I called Seidio customer service three times to say the people there are useless is an understatement. They basically were no help and said I could return it for a refund which would take about 2 weeks.

Perhaps the tab is pressing on the power button? Maybe ask for an exchange? One poor one slipped through the cracks...

sorry but i wont trust the ebay batteries again bought a set of 2 1500s for 9.99 with wall charger thought they were good but lost alot of power in a month or so and stay charged for only a few hours so please post back if your 3500 ebay battery begins to act more like the stock battery life. i just dont trust em anymore sorry

I apologize about this! The battery door is a tight fit but your phone should not be turning on and off. We do replace items as well, if you are interested. Please PM so I can better assist you!

Mad Several poor ones slipped through the cracks...

jdegroot01 I too had the same issue (once the cover is completely snapped in of having their epic turn off only to turn back on again and no its not a phone or software issue since once you pop the cover off the issue goes away). The right side tab is definitely pressing on the power button. After playing around with it for a while what worked for me was to snap in the right side tab first (one near the power button) and then work your way around the others. This seem to fix the powering on issue. Now my cover seats perfectly and no issues with the phone turning back on again. But Seidio should definitely look into this annoying issue. Shame on you Seidio.

FWIW, I have NOT had the random power on/off issue as reported above. I will, however, agree that the back cover is a tight fit. Once you get it on/off one or two times the "pain" of trying to seat it correctly, at least in my case, goes away some.

My feeling is that Seido needs to redesign the cover to be like the stock Samsung cover except with the extra room. The stock cover fits PERFECT and the replacement should fit no less so. I would be willing to pay a little extra (a few bucks) to get a better cover but this company needs to bear a good deal of cost to fix this, to me it's a serious flaw. I'm really put off by it. Here's another weakness-the existing cover has a "creaky wood floor" fit to it. If I push on the sides once the cover is in place it moves and makes noise.

I ordered one of these batteries a couple days ago as part of my preparations before heading to CES in a couple weeks. I'm hoping that all goes well, and that the battery life is indeed nearly double.

i posted a thread about it, but no one responded.

My epic is not rooted, and im wondering if i need to wipe my battery stats. and im also wondering how do i wipe my stats if im not rooted?
will a factory reset wipe the battery stats?

Thanks in advance.

I've had this extended battery running in my Epic for a bit over a week now... the battery life is indeed quite a bit better... is it doubled? Hmm, probably not quite, but close enough that I'm happy. I can get through an entire day now, about 8am to 2am the following day (that's about my normal sleep schedule) and I'll be sitting at around 40% as I drift off to sleep, as opposed to having been dead 2-3 hours before that previously. One thing I did notice is that the battery really does do better after a few days' worth of recharging, as Seidio states. The first day I was worried I got a bad battery because it didn't seem any better than stock, and maybe even worse... but with each subsequent recharge it has definitely improved. I'm quite happy with the purchase for sure... the back cover is a bit odd... I don't mind the added bulk frankly, but the shape takes some getting used to. As for the fit, I actually prefer how the replacement cover fits better. Yes, it's harder to get on and off, but I frankly like that... one thing you never want is a cover and battery to pop off your phone by accident I haven't experienced any of the problems people are talking about here, but maybe I've just been lucky. As I said, I'm very happy with this purchase, no question.

will a factory reset wipe the battery stats?

You can use a file explorer like astro and go to data>system>batterystats if it is the same as moment and intercept

I have had our product team look into this and we haven't been able to replicate the phone powering off and on again. It may be the way the battery door is being installed, so we have now included instructions to begin installing the battery door on the right side, near the power button. Doing so will ensure that you do not run into this issue!

This battery is absolutely worthless. The cover does not fit correctly. Even if I can eventually get the cover to stay on the phone I do not trust it. If it fit correctly it would not take over an hour to put on. I've had other Epic users try to get the cover on too with no luck.

If this is the kind of thought Seidio puts into the back cover imagine the "thoughtfulness" they're putting into the internal components of the battery itself.

Seidio = FAIL

follow this link

Read the tip I posted there to get the cover on. I'm willing to make a video if it's helpful.

FWIW, the cover is a bit difficult at first but once you know the trick to getting it on, it's simple and extremely sturdy.
