GMAIL works. And don't listen to all this don't upload your personal data to a cloud BS.

Keep in mind what you did was a one time, one way sync, meaning changes made in outlook or on your phone won't be shared after the initial sync. Gsyncit kind of works like active sync did with Blackberries and Windows phones, it is two way (if you want, there are several options). So you can add numbers or calender items from either device and they will end up on both after a sync. I have only used Gsyncit, so I have no idea if there is another program that is cheaper or better out there. It doesn't sync emails, just calendar and addresses. Also, if you haven't already done this, make sure you set up outlook to "leave a copy of messages on the server" and set it to "remove from server after (at least) 1 day". What I have noticed, is that if you are using a POP3 account, that outlook could poll and remove your email from the server before your phone has a chance to poll it. This seems to keep that from happening. You find this setting in Outlook under Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing e-mail accounts> Select Account then hit "change">More Settings>Advanced tab, the setting is on the bottom. If by chance anyone has a better setup for that please let me know, since I set mine up like this years ago, things might have changed since.
