power button won't work

I dropped my samsung epic 4G a few days ago, and ever since then the power button won't work. I can't light up, or black out my screen. I have to wait for it to time out to black out. & i have to slide open the keyboard to light it up. My battery died tonight, & i plugged it in. It is charging like normal, but I can't turn it on without using the power button. Is there any other way to power it on?

Plug it in and when battery pic pop up unplug n plug in before battery disseapear

I must thank you! Works great with LG Optimus Black. After hours of searching and trying, this is the only way to turn my phone on.
