Confused clockworkmod recovery help

I have done so much research and downloaded multiple files after reading posts, but nothing is in plain english to explain this to me so here goes:

why can't I mount my internal sd card in clockwork? If I should be able to, how do I go about doing so? If it's not allowed how is everyone else getting it to mount or show backup options and everything you need to install roms..... My head is spinning from all the confusion.

What root method did you use, and did you flash a kernel that had superuser or busybox? What version of Clockwork Recovery are you currently running, since earlier versions only allowed users to backup/restore via their External SD card.

I would try to flash a kernel (via Odin) that has the latest Clockwork in it, and if that doesn't work you can follow these Instructional Videos on the complete root process via Odin. Conversely, there is also an Automated Root Method that you can use.

I dont like clockworkmod, it never worked right for me, causing hours of frustration. There are other recoverys out there if you look, roguekernel is one, I think acsyndicate has one as well. Both wlrk well and im pretty sure the acsyndicate onr is what I used when my phone was soft bricked. Cwm wouldnt let me browse my sd cards or select zips. Flashed a new kernel via Odin and bam had a fully functioning recovery. Idk why everyone likes cwm so much

You need to turn off your phone and hold down the power and the volume down until this thing comes up like a terminal thing. Download clockworkmod 5.0.2.6 from computer then plug you phone in. On the computer in your phone storage it should say recovery.something. change it to recovery.(I forgot what it says).old and move the clockwork over to it and rename it to what the other one was originally. Hope this helped
