Question Case & Screen Protectors Recommendations?

Hey all,

I purchased my Eris on Monday and love it. Verizon offered some cases and screen protectors in store, but they were pretty pricey and decided I'd look online for better products and deals.

So any recommendations as to specific cases and screen protectors and/or sites and brands to buy from? Any and all help appreciated.

seidio innocase II. just got mine and after buying the clear snap together from verizon and the gloss black silicone case from best buy, this seidio case takes the cake. its awesome. 30 bucks for the case but I say its worth it. Thats of course if you can stomach spending 30 for a case.lol I have the smartphone experts screen protectors and they arent bad. fit is decent and its antiglare. i purchased both items through the forum store. awesome service.

HTC Droid Eris Skin - Cell Phones

That comes with a full body skin (screen protector material for the entire phone) and screen protector. It takes some skill to put it on, but once on its hardly noticeable

I used this product exclusively (no case) on my curve for 2 years, where it lived in my pocket with my keys, lint, etc, I recently took the "skin" off to let my dad have it and it looks brand spanking new. Needless to say i bought it for my N1.

I think that both Seidio innocase and the otterbox are cases with great reputations, but both $30 or over. I don't have either because I can't bring myself to pay that much when the ones off ebay fit perfectly on the eris. The crystal skin types offered on ebay are really nice. I have a similar kind that I got from Verizon. Its pink/clear and flexible but not really soft. You can buy the "oem silicone" verizon cases like this on ebay too for less $$. The one I have is also offered in blue. The hard snap on rubberized cases from ebay are nice too, they have a similar feel to the back of the eris. You can pick these cases up for very cheap. I fully recommed boxwave screen protectors, either crystal clear or anti-glare are offered. So smooth, no bubbles and no wet application! I tried skinomi and returned it due to the tacky feel and bubbles. I also bought a couple Golla pouches (for the iphone) off of ebay. You can find them on amazon as well. I recommend the flap type as the other type offered is kind of a tight fit if you're going to have a case on it.

Invisible Shield by Zagg. No experience on the Eris yet, but very positive experience on Sansa Fuze mp3 player. You can take a key and scratch right across the face without damage to the screen protector membrane itself. Have to be careful installing it. They give you a little kit with spray and squeegee, etc. Wait til it dries the next day before final evaluation. Bubbles/wrinkles apparent when it is "wet" will disappear the next day. And it stays perfect afterwards; no lifting off or other defects.

Very nice product for just a screen protector. I figure with these devices (phones, mp3 players, etc) that by the time 2 years is up, if the cases get a bit worn, who cares? It will be time for replacement then anyway. In the meantime you stay thin with only the screen protector membrane.

I got a $1 silicone case off Amazon (came with high reviews, only $4 shipped), and a Seidio screen protector ($13 shipped). I've found that the silicone cases absorb shock better than the hard cases; one kept my blackberry's body in mint condition for 2 years. I don't drop my phone too much, but my cat likes to knock things over. Call me old fashioned, but I've never had a problem with screen protectors that don't require liquid to apply. Why change now?

The otterbox is SLICK....just got it and the 1750mah battery from seidio. The screen protector that came with the otterbox does not have a complete side to side coverage so I am considering something else to accompany the actual otterbox....ps i got the commuter not the impact...the impact is actually bulkier than the commuter even though the commuer has silicone and hard case
