Nice case, however i still like my seidio innocase alittle better. Plus you can get a belt clip from seidio thats kinda nice when you are using it as an mp3 player.
Get the commuter case.
The impact is a great case but it disables the proximity sensor and also covers the small reddish circle thats hard to see below and to the right of the proximity sensor.
I'm guessing that is an antenna of some sort.
After installing the case my battery drained in 3-4 hours when I usually get a day to a day and a half easy. I also tried it on two other ERIS phones with the same results.
Otterbox claims they have had no complaints of this, I find that hard to believe because there are several threads here alone that refer to this same problem.
I returned it and bought the commuter case.
MolonLabe I went with commuter... I am hell on phones I drop them and seems like every time it falls i take a step and kick across parking lot or something.
Got this case a while back after a drop to the parking lot scared the s##t out of me. I love it. It feels incredibly solid and have had 2 drops since then and did not worry a bit about the phone. Here is a pic of the difference in my naked eris and with the case.

DAMN!!... I bought the impact case on sunday because I couldn't find the commuter case on newegg.
Anyways thanks to this board I found it and just purchased it and made a profile on here cause this site is awesome. very informative for us eris users. I just got mine from amazon wireless and just have to activate it.
Anyways considering I will be getting the impact and commuter case I am just gonna open both and make a comparison thing for all of u
$38 bucks for both but eh it will be worth it if I drop it and I am skeptical about returning things back to online stores.
Nice case, however i still like my seidio innocase alittle better. Plus you can get a belt clip from seidio thats kinda nice when you are using it as an mp3 player.
Why do you like the innocase better?
I have been looking at buying the Innocase II vs. Otter Box Commuter. I really do not want to add much bulk. Which is thinner? Seidio says the Innocase II is 1 mm thin and it does not list weight. Otter Box says the Commuter weighs 1 oz. but does not specify how thin it is. Anyone know how much the Innocase weighs and how thin the Commuter is?
Received my otter box today and I like it. The screen protector is nothing to write home about but to me it was a free. The phone is no thicker than my previous Blackberry curve 8330 with the box on. I like the feel even though people say it feels plastic compared to the rubbery feel of the phone itself. I feel like I have a far better grip on the phone. I like the fact that the volume buttons are shielded with rubber and that all the ports have covers.
Ordered my Commuter case about 5 minutes ago. Hell of a price and seeing has how I am using the Verizon clear case right now with no screen protector I am really looking forward to seeing how well this case works.
Got my commuter case today and I love it. I previously had a clear Verizon snap on case and it was showing scratches like crazy. I love both the feel of the case and it has a good weight to it. Highly recommend this especially at this price.
Didn't use the screen protector btw, didn't feel like I needed it and the feedback on that part of the case isn't very good.
