Default HTC widgets on any ROM

So is there a way to get the HTC widgets onto any ROM? I really love the HTC widgets (that's why I bot the Eris), so I have a hard time straying from the Ivan ROM due to Sense. Is there a way to get the Sense widgets but use another ROM, like maybe an HTCwidgets.apk or something like that?

They are intertwined/built into sense UI if that makes any sense (no pun intended). If you want to run the htc widgets, you need a rom that is sense based.

Yup, that makes sense. I figured someone would have "ripped" them out of the Sense UI by now, but it sounds like that's not possible.

Yeap, it doesn't appear to be possible. That said, which widgets are you after ? There are good substitutes for most but can be hard to find.

I've looked for substitutes, and they're all sub-par.

Beautiful Widgets are considered the 2nd best after HTC's own. I've found good substitutes for most except for the various on/off toggles (for GPS, WiFi, and so on).

Look for fancy widgets. Its not on the market anymore. It had to be taken down because it was an exact clone of the HTC Weather/Flip clock. But a quick google search for Fancy Widget should get you what you need. Also Weather and Flip clock by Android Apps is just like the HTC sense Weather/Flip clock, only its a clear see through widget.

Default Re: HTC widgets on any ROM

I use neither the HTC weather widgets nor the flip clock. The flip clock, while nice to look at, is utterly useless. And the HTC weather widgets, while again nice to look at, are broken and useless compared to Weatherbug Elite. I use 2 formats of the calendar widget, the album widget, the bookmarks widget, and basically all the settings widgets.
