Mad USB driver.. Help?!

I've been having driver issues with my Eris for a long while. The only fix I've been able to find required me to run a program on a Vista machine and then copy files to my Windows 7 machine. Unfortunately, I don't have a Vista machine at my disposal. I scoured HTC's website, and came up with nothing but an HTC Sync application that didn't help anything. My computer detects my phone, but just registers it as "Unknown Device" and assigns it a standard USB driver.

I started this forum here because my phone has been rooted. I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with this issue, but I figured I'd try it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

It wouldn't hurt to have this question in All Things Root and the generic Eris forums as well, so I made a copy of this thread; it's now in both forums.

Do you have USB debugging enabled in the Eris when you attach it to your computer?

menu > settings > applications > development > usb debugging

Jason,

I PM'd you...let me know if you are interested in the USB drivers. No guarantees, but they might work for you.

Cheers!

edit: by the way, welcome to the AndroidForums!

Thanks...I'll take a look at these too and add to my pile...I was thinking that I can't post 'em here (thought I read somewhere about copyright issues, etc.).

Can't hurt to try...when I went from Vista to Windows 7, I struggled for a while until I tracked-down some 32-bit versions.
