Additional lockscreens
Quick question, and sorry if its been asked, but a quick simple answer will do the trick. I am currently running xtrom 4.6 and I was wondering if there was a way to change my lockscreen. In particular, i'm looking for slide bar, kind of like the iphone. Also where can I find some different lock screens, if it is possible? Thanks!

Many apps in the market. For an iPhone like lockscreen UI, I'd suggest Lock 2.0. However, I find that the highly customizable WidgetLocker is the best lock scren I've had the pleasure of using. It's a premium app, but it's well worth it. It's stable, fast, and DOESN'T require it to be set as the home(if you have root that is )

is there an iphone lockscreen that is flashable that completely replaces the lockscreen? Because with lock 2.0 because there is a little lag... not a lot. I just don't think there should be any lag when unlocking the phone because it is not an arduous task to perform.
or if not like the iphone then something new and different? i just want to change things up a little bit.

Kobel~ does this work on the XTRsense also? Just flash zip I assume?
Sure does, I used it on my wifes phone. Did you find the zip? I think I put a link to it. Just flash from recovery, works better then any of the widget locker or lock bot. No lag.

How would you "unzip" to go back to XTRsense lock screen?
First of all when changing anything major to your phone you always want to do a nandroid backup. I sometimes forget to mention that because it is stated so much and one of those pet pevs that you should always remember to do. After saying that, make a nand backup then flash the zip. If for some reason you dont like it just do a restore of the nand you just did.

If you didn't do a Nandroid first, I'd think that reflashing xtrSENSE without wiping data first may reset the default lockscreen.
I really like the "tab" lockscreen that most of the vanilla ROMs have... by far the best-looking one I've seen yet. I also like how the right tab puts the phone on vibrate (instead of just silent like it used to). Very handy!

Hey, Kobe, I flashed the zip you posted and I love it. However, is there a way to change the wallpaper so the lockscreen isn't clear? Every time I go to change it, it will say it has been changed but it stays the same. I don't mind that it's clear, I just can't stand the clock that clashes with the clock on my home screen. Thanks for the help

To be honest I havent tried to change the lockscreen. I will give it a shot to see if it can be done. If all else fails, zach may be able to get rid of the time on the lockscreen.
Let me know if your successful. I love the lockscreen but the clearness of it is bothersome. May just go back to the boring HTC lockscreen if I can't figure out how to change the background

As far as I know, the only way to accomplish this is via MetaMorph. It works great though, just kind of a pain:
I tried that MM and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to change the background. I asked for help/suggestions in the original thread over at xda and never received a response. For some reason I've never been able to get any of my questions answered over there. That's one of the reason why I LOVE this forum so much, everyone is so nice and helpful

I was able to get that to work in xtrROM. I'm not running it now, so I may have some of this wrong, but the instructions in that xda thread are pretty spot-on for xtr, with one exception: the installation via metamorph does not remove /system/app/htlockscreen.apk. I used Root Explorer to rename that file to htclockscreen.bak, just so that I could get it back if it didn't work.
To get a custom background, what I did was follow those instructions in that thread to get the background that was included in the download. Then I created my own background that was exactly 320x480 .png file called "create_contact.png", just as it says in that post on xda. Metamorph will have expanded that lockwallpaper.zip file onto your SD card. I just replaced the background in framework-res/res/drawable-mdpi/create_contact.png in that directory on my SD card, reinstalled it with metamorph, and I had my custom background.
One thing, though, that bugged me: the lockscreen when you receive a call is still that HTC pull down method.

My issue was when I went into the framework-res/res/drawable-mdpi I couldn't change the create_contact. Maybe I did something wrong? Also when you changed it were you using Astro or a different file manager?
I was dissapointed that when receiving a call it was the old lockscreen as well. By any chance do you know if you remove the htclockscreen.apk if the vanilla lockscreen would show up for calls? I don't know what it is about the HTC one but I just can't stand it, lol. The vanilla one looks so much nicer

I used Astro, but I didn't change it in the .zip file. When you install with Metamorph, IIRC, it expands the .zip file. I replaced create_contact in the location where it was expanded, re-ran Metamorph, using that location, rather than the .zip file.
Again, if I had xtrROM installed I'd be able to walk through the process again. I hope that I am remembering that right.

That's ok. I'm going to try it sometime this weekend. Worse comes to worse I can live with the wallpaper included in the MM lockscreen. The clear lockscreen with the VZW and time really leaves a lot to be desired, IMO

You're right. Once Metamorphed, the zip is extracted onto the SD card in /sdcard/AndroidThemes/LockWallpaper/
If you ever want to change wallpapers, follow doogald's instructions by creating a new create_contact.png file and dropping it into that location. You'll then need to re-run Metamorph to get the new wallpaper.
I tried to apply the MM and got force closes and couldn't get past the lock screen. I tried a total of 3 times with no luck. I don't know why it's not working, I've used it on xtrSENSE before.
I have had problems with MM and I won't use it. I know that its not what I am doing, just my phone doesn't like it. Now I have found solutions to the transparent lockscreen, but if you are not comfortable with sdk then you wont want to try it. If you want the link just reply.

Yea, I'm not super confidant with SDK. I've never even tried it before. Is it something that could be learned pretty easily? I love xtrSENSE but hate the HTC lockscreen.

All you have to do to get a custom lockscreen wallpaper in xtrROM/SENSE is long hold on any pic and press the set as button and then lockscreen. Beware though, this is a one way trip; zach hasn't figured out how to restore the clear lockscreen without reflashing.

This doesn't work on xtrSENSE. I wish it were as simple as this haha. I hate the HTC lockscreen and don't want to switch to a different ROM just for the lockscreen so i'm stuck with the clear nexus. I guess beggers can't be choosers but I thought anything was possible with root why can't i change this hideous clear background already haha
