Explanation:
If you're like me, unrooting your Eris and returning it back to its FACTORY ROM was giving you many problems and hassles. This is the easiest way I found to unroot and return to stock. If you're like me and the Official RUU didn't work for some reason, I believe this is the 2nd easiest way to go. If you can use the RUU I recommend it. The download can be easily found. For the ROM I have for you today, download it, and flash it like you would any other ROM. Its that simple! It returns EVERYTHING to STOCKand even changes the BOOTLOADER back to stock!
>> Connect your phone to your computer and copy the new ROM to the root of your phones SD Card(not in any folders)
>> Power off your phone and restart it while holding the volume button up
>> When you get to the recovery screen, scroll down to the "Wipe" button and select it. Then choose "Wipe data/factory Reset". After that completes, select "Wipe dalvik-cache"
>> Go back to the main Recovery screen and select "Flash zip from sdcard"
>> Let the zip install. You might see a few unfamiliar screens that seem like they froze. That is supposed to happen, it's updating the radio when that happens.
>> You will get a screen telling you to reboot by pressing the volume up/down or press home. Just click the normal reboot button.
Congratulations! You're phone is now unrooted, and back to stock!

Had a rooted eris with xtrsense 5.0 which I liked but I got the tackball defect, VZ sent me a free Incredible as I had extended warranty, unrooted and sending back, worked perfectly....
once I get the inc I will root it but it looks like a little more complex rooting from what I read at the inc forums as it appears the one step root zip is not appropriate there so the rooting is through the USB to windows on the computer to get the drivers installed first.....hopefully a great rom over there as I really like the sense experience....again thanks much as sending my STOCK eric back tomorrow!
rooting the inc isnt so bad. i had to install the drivers manually,it dint work exactly as it showed in the video(i used the guide at theunlockr.com). once thats done, you plug it in,the program sees your phone, and you let 'er rip
alot of times youll get a "firmware too new" error the first time. if so dont freak out, just run it again. it will usually work the 2nd time.
