I really wish that all of the OEMs would embrace people who want to root. I can understand a little why carriers do not want to support this - they are the ones that have to field first-level support calls from customers - but they could make the info about unlocking bootloaders available on their web sites and give the carriers the tools to recognize when a handset is rooted, giving them the ability to say to customers "call us back when you unroot and lock the bootloader." I'd be satisfied with that.
