Question lost signal after root

Hi
I am little lost hope I can get some help .
First thanks to everyone that made the rooting of this phone so easy .
I just had a eris given to me (my first smart phone ) I have used it for a week and like it alot nice and small . I wanted to tether and get alittle quicker responce from the phone so I started reading on rooting 3 days ago there is alot of info to take in . I rooted this morning took about half hour all went well phone worked great all day tonight when I got home I *228 opt.2 like I use to with myold flip phone and now I have no signal its like it is in airplane mode . Took out the battery let it sit and when booting back up it says airplane mode then gose to normale with signal within a min. it just gives me a X where the signal bar is . everything is on and airplane mode is off . It wont make calls .
I using the xtrsense 5.0.1
Any help please thanks

Have you tried turning airplane mode on for a minute or two and then turning it off? Sometimes this can help with lost signals. If that doesn't work, I would try to do a factor/data reset, wipe dalvik, and reflash the ROM.

Yes I did turn it on then off . I ended up reflashing the rom I got it working agin but with real unstable signal . When I go to gscrip open it all I have is a blank page I can bring up menu to add scrip but it is like nothing is in there . Could this be my problem ?
Thank you for the reply metlcat at least I got one reply .
I have read over 2200 post trying to find my problem with no luck

This is by design with xtrROM (and xtrSENSE.)

Stock Eris 2.1 introduced this weird problem that if you checked your battery usage it would mistakenly report that time without a signal was 50% of the time (even though it wasn't). This can be fixed by quickly putting the phone in airplane mode, waiting a brief period (I used to wait for the display to turn off) and then turning off airplane mode.

With xtrROM 5.0.1 (and xtrSENSE5), zach.xtr added a script that puts the phone in airplane mode when it is booted, and then turns off airplane mode. It does this automatically, and its purpose is to fix the 50% without signal bug.

First off, it is normal for gscript to start that way - with a blank screen. You need to press menu and choose the option to add a script. If you are not seeing any scripts to add, something is up, because flashing the ROM adds a folder called gscript with a bunch of scripts to the SD card.

Perhaps there is an issue with the PRL (preferred roaming list) on the phone? Do you have no signal everywhere, or just at home? If you can find a signal somewhere, you may want to drive to that spot and do a reactivation (dial *228 and press 1 when prompted) and update the PRL (dial *228 and press 2 when prompted.)

When I rooted my phone I also had no signal initially. Have you just let it sit for a few minutes after you rebooted?

My signal came back by itself after what I thought was an eternity, but it has been great since then and endured several ROM flashings with no problems at all.
