Default OMGB (Pure AOSP Gingerbread ROM)

This one was posted on xda-developers earlier today. It looks pretty decent (though I am wondering how smart it is to run a ROM called "t3hh4xx0r".)

Anyway, the xda thread is here: {ROM}[Pure Gingerbread]OMGB 1.1.1 - Page 2 - xda-developers and it can be downloaded (and you can get more info) from here: Eris | T3hH4xx0r

There are some minor customizations, but it's pure AOSP otherwise, running Conap's CFS kernel. The xtrcache2cache script works with this just fine.

I'll probably try this later this week (surprisingly light homework week), but I like a lot of the CM features, so I probably won't stick with it. I'm interested to see how this runs compared to GSB.

I'm going to test this out tonight. Been running GSB for awhile now so I'm curious to see how it compares.

LOL, I got a kick out of this from the poster:
Under 60mb
No bugs
Fast
Minimal deviations from stock

At least he's confident.

seems to run ok. there is some definate lag when typing in mms is the only thing ive noticed so far. for not being a CM port its incredibly smooth. my only complaint really so far is i miss the cm option for a black messaging background.

I don't like the default font/typeface. My widgets are not showing text properly - they are obviously designed to display the default Android typeface.

One more weird thing is that my LP+ gmail widget is showing nothing on this.

I also noticed the same failure to install error messages with this. I'm not sure how much is cache2cache causing weirdness or whether it's just that Android 2.3 is not expecting to be run on such a RAM-confined device.

I went back to GSB overnight but will switch back to this one for the day, just to give it a fair shake.

Unless this rom has something over on GSB I think I'll stick with GSB.

no,bc, it really doesnt have anything over it. its kinda neat that its just plain AOSP,but the white backgrounds suck,im kinda partial to CMs lil tweeks also, for what its worth,r2doesinc is not well thot of over on xda.

its worth a flash on the test phone so you can see what it looks like, but theres no real reason i can see to run it instead of GSB.

Excuse me while I shout, but

IF IT'S PURE AOSP, THEN WHY DOES IT HAVE A CRAPPY NON-AOSP TYPEFACE!!!???

i cant answer that(one more for good measure )

but in the incredible forum,he seems to get a good start on a lot of projects, then moves on to something else. hes got alot of good starts, but no real finished, polished roms.

guess its not as AOSP as he claims it to be.

OMFGB ran quite well on my incredible. It used to be my favorite gingerbread ROM. However, I have not tried it out on my eris yet. I was unaware it was available.
