Default Rooting...quick help please

I followed the steps and everything was fine. Now i'm worried....

I got everything up to recovery. i backed up like the guide said, then wiped/factory restore, then went to flash and saw nothing. forgot to move it over, so started my phone and did it through usb on my computer. all was fine, i put it back in recovery, flashed the xtrSENSE, then restored the (lots of letters) then BCDC-date....

did i do something wrong? wasn't sure if i was supposed to do flash AND restore or if the order mattered. do i just reboot and all is well?

please respond before my phone dies.

C. If the HBOOT version says "1.49.0000" and the last part of the first
line says "S-ON", then you most likely have a 2.1 leak version on your
phone and you cannot root at this time.

So this is what mine says when i do vol-down + end....?

This is no longer true. If you booted into Recovery and flashed a ROM, then you rooted the phone.

You only need to restore if something goes wrong after you flashed. So, what I would do is flash xtrSENSE again and see how things are.

Wow! Kudos to your search skills! I recognize the above blurb as taken from my thread:

Basic Root Troubleshooting Guide for the HTC Droid Eris.

I've gone back and tried to put a few warnings and update the references indicating that all Eris phones can now be rooted.

I did have a few updated references in the to the new rooting methods in that thread, but there were so quite a few references to the 2.1 leaks not being rootable that I didn't update them all. I have put a bold-red blurb at the top of that thread to hopefully make this a little more clear.

Sorry for the confusion!
