GSB 2.9 runs splendidly on my unit, but occasionally I run out of internal memory space. Also, my SD card has a lot of residual junk on it.
GSB 3.0 is probably on the brink, and this time I want to wipe my SD card and also try cache2cache. However, I worry about sequence and need guru guidance. Is this about right? Assume GSB(latest), gapps, and c2c are all on my phone's SD card.
1. Do App List backup.
2. Do LauncherPro backup.
3. Move SD card contents to computer.
4. Go to recovery, wipe Dalvik and data.
5. Flash GSB.
6. Flash c2c.
7. Wipe SD card.
8. Reboot.
9. Via USB, install selected files back to SD card.
10. Flash Gapps.
11. Reboot.
That seems ok to me, but I've bought Titanium and don't know where it fits in or whether it adds anything.

What Doogald said will fix your internal memory space issues.
As for a clean install:
1) Download Titanium Backup
2) Run Titanium Backup and back up all apps + data
3) Backup Launcher Pro
4) Boot to recovery
5) Nand backup
6) Data + Dalvik wipe
7) Flash latest GSB
8) Flash Gapps
9) Flash cache2cache
10) Reboot
11) Sign into Google account and let it restore things (some people don't sign in yet)
12) Restore Launcher Pro
13) Go to market and download Titanium Backup
14) Run Titanium Backup and restore all apps wanted

I really want to wipe the SD card as well, and am uncertain as to where in the sequence that belongs.
I think that you can do that any time. Perhaps the best is to start in Recovery, connect to your PC by USB, choose MS-USB from the menu to mount the SD card on your computer, and just either format it from there, or erase everything, then copy everything back that you need (i.e., GSB.zip. gapps.zip, c2c.zip, plus any Nandroids you want to keep. Probably the Titanium Backup folder as well.)
Based on your first list, you definitely have to flash gapps before you reboot. But I suppose that you could:
- restart in Recovery
- use the MS-USB method I just listed to back up, format, and then copy back what you need to keep minimally
- wipe dalvik/wipe data (if you want to full wipe)
- flash gsb
- flash gapps
- flash c2c
- restart, setup and start using
3.0 has been released. This morning, I'll build a new Eris. Thanks to the thread participants for the help. Hopefully I'll get it right the first time.
The HTC Droid Eris launched for Verizon Wireless on November 6th in part as the carrier's first Android Phone. However it was overshadowed by the other member of the inaugural Verizon Droid duo - the Motorola Droid. The Droid Eris might look fa... Read More
