As per the title, with any version of GSB I flash, I cannot receive calls. I see my 3g bars switch to 1x then immediately back to 3g when the call tries to come in and the other line immediately goes to voicemail. I can send calls/texts fine and I can check voicemail fine. My call log also immediately updates with the number that just failed to reach me.
I've flashed other roms, even FroShedYo and they all work fine.
Try performing a PRL update. *228 option 2. Lots of us have encountered similar problems with gingerbread ROMs.
Thanks for the tip but when I call *228 in GSB, I don't have a dial pad to choose option 2. It goes to a "Please wait while your phone is activated screen" with a load bar ...
*EDIT* I figured it out : ). Long press on menu brings up keyboard. Sadly though, this did not correct the problem : (.

Since you can make calls and receive texts, it's probably not an activation problem, but you could always try calling *228 option 1 to try reactivating.
What baseband version do you have (settings->about phone)? If you're at an older version it may be worth moving up to the latest. (This is an option that's slightly risky, so make this the last thing that you try.)
Is this happening from every number that is calling you, or just from one number? I think that there is a setting in contacts that forces all calls to voicemail (open contacts, hit the contact, menu->options - there is the setting.) There is also a setting in (from home) settings->call settings->Blacklist to block incoming calls from particular numbers.
The other thing is that it could be that your slot cycle is too long to ring the phone long enough for GSB to detect the caller before it goes to voice mail. You can't program the slot cycle from GSB, but you can Nandroid backup, then either restore xtrSENSE or xtrROM (or install one of them) and program the slot cycle (try a setting of 1) from there.
Last thing: it may be something in GSB for your phone. I've been running Condemned CM7 and I have fewer issues with it than with GSB (those issues are all with the market for me, but worth a try.) With the exception of the default launcher being ADW, you will probably no notice a difference between Condemned and GSB.

Version: I've cycled between 3 different of the latest GSB options, including the latest stable version and the latest release candidate. All same issue
Blacklist: It happens from both my home landline and my gmail account (call phone option). I checked the setting you mentioned, no numbers on the list.
Slot Cycle: Quickly reading the desciption of a slot cycle, I seriously doubt that it is at fault having attempted to call over 20 times. At least one of those times should have landed a complete call (In reality, all should have).
Thanks a lot for the attention, but I'm still stuck. I'd rather not change the slot cycle since I for one don't believe that is the problem and I'd rather not mess with such a seemingly technical setting that I know little about.
The thing I do notice though, as listed before, is that when the call is incoming, my signal bars will swap from 3g to 1x then immediately back to 3g. It's almost like it attempts to answer and fails. Again, the call log still updates with the incoming numbers, meaning the phone is registering the call, just not connecting.
*Edit* I also of course did try both settings with the *228 feature, to no avail.

Try a different rom.

The slot cycle is merely the delay the phone uses before it checks the tower for a new call of text message. In other words, the baseband goes to sleep for the length of time of whatever slot cycle you have before it checks in with the tower again. Each slot cycle is about 1.3 seconds; a slot cycle of 0 checks ever 1.3 seconds, slot cycle of 1 is 2.6. The default for the eris is a slot cycle of 2, so it waits 3.9 seconds. You can have potentially that much of a call ring through before your phone even registers that it is getting a call.
I doubt that it is that.
You didn't mention your baseband, but I doubt it's that, since you are not having issues with other ROMs.
I'd do one of two things:
- switch to a ROM that you know that works, and just stick with it - cause, after all, it works
- try Condemned CM7 to see if the problem goes away with that ROM
By the way, you say that you are calling from gmail, so I assume that you have a Google Voice account. Are you calling the phone's cell number or the Google Voice number when you make that call? Just checking. (For the record, I was running GV on GSB, but I rarely receive calls on it - but I did receive one, unfortunately a misdialed number call at 1:35 am one morning, and I received it just fine.)

I don't think I have a Google Voice account, I've never used it. I think the call phone feature is just in basic Gmail.
And yeah, I've been using Kaosfroyo (have been experiencing many browser crashes and ESPN radio doesn't function sadly) as GSB obviously doesn't function properly. I just read so much about users loving GSB and Froshedyo was a great rom. Just was hoping someone else ran into the same issue. Guess the search continues for a great rom. The hardest thing to get working is my NFL channel feed, which surprisingly works on Kaos : ).

Hey I am having the exact same issues that you are describing. Did you ever find a fix for it?
