Default S-OFF bootloader,recovery flashable

came accross this this morning on XDA: [hboot] Engineering (ENG) hboot - recovery flashable - xda-developers

i personally prefer to be S-OFF. there is greater chance of recovery in some catastrophic failures, but there is also much greater responsibility in having it,you need to be extremely careful and cautious what you flash via an unsecured bootloader,so im not going to encourage folks one way or another to do it,as i know the thots on the subject of some of our more esteemed and respected forum members

but i thot some folks may be interested in seein it,so here ya go

Is this any different from the one that may brick a phone with the 1.46.0000 S-ON bootloader? And will not work if you have 1.47.0000 S-ON?

Did I just brick my Eris? It won't turn on anymore. - xda-developers especially this post: xda-developers - View Single Post - Did I just brick my Eris? It won't turn on anymore.

(Of course, both would be fixable, I think, if you install the leak 3 ROM, which puts 1.49.0000 S-ON on the phone, IIRC.)

That's a good question. I assumed it to not be(or I wouldn't have linked it) since he made references to not being able to find it.

I see you asked him,thanks

No worries. Jcase posted updated instructions in his post on xda, so it's all good.

Thanks to Scary for figuring out that the image was the same.
