Default Netflix App - Anyone get this solution to work?

[ROOT] How to edit your build.prop to make Netflix work on unsupported devices : Android

This post discusses editing the build.prop file to show a different (approved) phone model in order to allow the Netflix App to function. I'm getting "cannot delete/copy this file" errors with KaosFroyo. Anyone finding success or a workaround?

Edit: I've since discovered this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13773300&postcount=174

I got the app installed an running, buy playback crashes the program back to its main menu. Sigh.

I believe that the Eris is lacking more things than just some build prop edits to trick the app. I also think that judging by the size of it (26.1 MB installed)... It's probably a bit much for this phone.. Just my opinion though

Yep, you seem to be right. Netflix may just be beyond the capabilities of this little bugger : (.

The same thing happened to me - I reported it in the Condemned CM7 thread a few days ago. I'd upgrade to a supported phone rather than try to get it working on the Eris. Or buy an iPod Touch - it works great on that.
