I was running cm nightly #87 just switched to #94. While on #87 i was running tiamat kernel which i didnt really like that much. When i flashed over to 94 did it replace my tiamat kernel with a cm one?

Hmmm, this is the HTC Eris All Things Root forum. It doesn't sound like you are running an Eris; I do not recognize anything remotely like that available for the Eris from CyanogenMod. You may want to ask your question in the forum for your device.

the nightlys are complete,ready to go roms,they are not just "updates" so to speak... you can start at any nightly and it is a complete,flashable rom,complete with CM kernel.

but to answer,your question,yes, your tiamat kernel is gone. you can verify by checking about phone and making sure the build date corresponds to #94,and checking what kernel is listed
