Talking Saying good bye

Well my little Eris that could saw its last day on thursday the 9th. My son who is 2 through it into his little swimming pool. It had been a great droid phone even though under powered, rooting it and playing with roms for the past year and 8 months has been a blast. I learned so much from everyone here. I rooted the old way, no one click root method here. I took the leaked 2.0 and had to wait for the dev's to find away around the leak. The good people here helped me through the process, nothing has ever worked the way the write ups show or state for me. My eris and I have had a lot of great times.
Now for the news that may make lots of you guys mad. I went and got an iPhone 4. Now I know what you are all saying and thinking. For me I need a phone that will last more than 6 hours without a charge. Yes I know that if you turn everything off and make it like a phone that isn't cool anymore it will get more time out of the battery. Why take everything away from the android that makes it awesome just to get more life out of the battery? I will just wait until they get the battery up to par. I get 30 hrs nothing turned off with 6 hours of actual play time on my phone.

Good luck everyone

Glad you enjoyed your stay and its always nice to hear that everyone here has been helpful. Enjoy your new phone, and what experiences it may bring with it; and maybe one day you'll see the light again

Thanks for the note, kobel1up!

I remember when you well and wish you well with your new phone (keep an eye out on your son, though [although he sounds like he might have a future as a pitcher or quarterback ]).

Cheers!

I always liked the teasing around here. I do see the light I know android is the best os out there. Unfortunately I need my phone to be contacted by my boss, and I don't always have a place to charge. Missing a call is one thing, my phone dying is another. Some of the things that I do are time sensitive so I need a charge to last all working day, checking emails sending emails and using the timer, setting appointments in my calender all kinds of stuff. When the new android phones get 30hrs or close with everything running I will switch back. I hope it is when I get to my next upgrade.

Why would anybody be mad about which phone you decide is best for yourself? Good luck and maybe we'll see you back at androidforums in a couple of years!

might try takin it apart and leaving it in rice for a few days... maybe it will power back on and you can keep it to play with like some of us have done

its unfortunate your lil buddy met such an unfortuante fate after all your time together. but i hope your new device works out for you! we all get new phones eventually.

Definitely not teasing. More of a friendly joke. I have no issue with iOS and whatever works best for you is definitely what you should pick. It should not be based on what others (here or elsewhere) tell you. The phone is YOURS and should be your choice alone.

Thanks everyone for making it a great experience here at the forum. I remember the days of all the complaining about not having the update. Then when we got it or the leak it was even more problems. Teasing wasn't the right word, friendly joking and or jab is what made it so much fun. My wife has her eris still so you may still see me here posting a question or to. Yes I know it is my phone and now there are only the grown up members here now so thank you for all your best wishs, and hope to be back here again with a new android in a few years. Thanks again.
