Default [ROM-AOSP][09-19-11] Evervolv | GRJ90/Android 2.3.5 | Eris v1.2.0b3

Even though this is a BETA release of Evervolv for the Eris, it is stable and has no significant bugs.
I would appreciate it if you posted any issues, questions, or other feedback in this thread...don't be afraid to speak up.

To install: boot to recovery, nand backup, full wipe(data + dalvik-cache + cache), delete .android_secure from the sdcard, flash evervolv, flash gapps, reboot, and enjoy!
A full wipe is NECESSARY if you are coming from a different ROM!

Love this ROM, stable, fast..excellent

Any chance of adding a way changing the email font size. Need glasses to read standard fonts (too old!)

I got to looking around at fonts and someone made the default font in Evervolv, sony sketch, 30% larger. So if you like it and just want it bigger, flash the attached EV_font_larger.zip from recovery. If you prefer the default android font which is bigger than normal sony sketch, you can flash the attached stock_font.zip in recovery.

There's also a lot fonts that you can also flash from recovery in this thread:

And screenshots of quite a few here:

Attached Files
File Type: zip stock_font.zip (353.3 KB, 2 views)
File Type: zip EV_font_larger.zip (478.5 KB, 8 views)

I have yet to run evervolv since the Eris is used by my wife now but I'm guessing it doesn't have spare parts.... It can be installed free from the market and has an option to change the font size. It will keep the same font and will be system wide but just thought I'd throw that out there as an option as well

It does have spare parts and I was going to mention that but it doesn't end up changing the font sizes within most apps. The email body text is the same size whether spare parts is set to "extremely large" or "extremely small". Nothing can just be simple these days

I've added some addons, extras, & info to the 2nd post that will hopefully be useful to some. Feel free to post, send a PM, or talk to me on IRC if there's other stuff that you think would be good to add as it is a WIP. One thing I'd like to also do is try and keep a tentative changelog that is kept updated to reflect what I'm planning/working on for the next release. I see it as a pretty easy way for me to keep you all updated on what to expect and make adjustments based on your feedback.

That second post is going to be really useful beyond just use with this ROM. Thank you for taking the time to get all of those links together.

1.2.0b3 Released - OP Updated
Get the changelog and download the zip HERE

I'd recommend a full wipe before updating but you can try with just wiping cache+dalvik. Just know that I haven't tested flashing over b2 and you could run into issues.

For anybody that would prefer an ODEX build of v1.2.0b3 - Download Here
I'm thinking about how to best have a link to the ODEX version included on the website so until that happens, I'll just post it here.

Default EVO 4G GPS Won't Lock

Have version 2.3.4 with associated google apps loaded. Trying to run Google Maps in Navigate mode and GPS won't lock. Any suggestions on how to fix? Mapquest works just fine, but prefer Maps.

When will version 2.3.5 be available for the EVO 4G?

This is the Droid Eris forum. You may want to ask this question in the EVO forum instead.

I'm not sure when the next beta will be released for the Evo but there's a 9/16 nightly available if you want to try it out.

If you run into any problems with it, you can drop by our channel on IRC: #evervolv @ irc.freenode.net OR using webchat. Also feel free to PM me here.
