2.1 > Eclair
2.2 > Froyo
2.3 > Gingerbread
3.0 > Honeycomb
4.0 > ICS

2.1 is the last official release for the Eris. There are Custom ROMs that will give you 2.2 (not recommended) or 2.3 (better).
