Default Is it possible to retrieve deleted SMS?

I accidentally deleted a text msg I needed. Is it possible to retrieve it?

You don't happen to be using an app like SMS Backup & Restore or, better, SMS Backup+, are you?

There is probably a way to extract the sms database from the phone and examine it, but I wouldn't know how myself.

I'm going to suggest SMS Backup+ going forward, though. Free in the market, every sent and received text message is copied to a label in gmail.
