Default Eris not welcome on Verizon network?

My daughter is still using an Eris on VZW. She gets texts almost daily from Verizon telling her she has earned an upgrade and to come into the store to pick out a new phone. Are they trying to get these little guys off the network?

Yes, I think so. I think they really want to get everybody on LTE phones as soon as they are eligible, especially if they use a lot of 3G data.

Guess they are stuck with those iPhone 4S users who are a year away from upgrade. :-)

And that is what she plans to replace her Eris with anyway.

No, our family of 3 has already converted to a share everything plan. Since we've all been on wifi most of the time, we use almost no data.

I too started with the eris, I love the size of the phone and couldn't drag me to the og droid, i thought it was an ugly brick. I've now moved on.....dx, bionic, but now I have found the razr m, if she loves the eris do yourself a favor and atleast go check out the m. It's very eris like in size.

Thanks. I'll make sure she takes a look at that one. She seems to have her heart set on the iPhone 4S. 17 year old girls don't always make decisions based on the best available technology.
