Kiss Switching microSD cards and Address Book issues

I actually have a LG Optimus (a.k.a. LG Swift), but I couldn't find a forum for that one. So here I am. It's currently running android 1.6, but I will be updating it to 2.1 in September.

I have some questions that I'm hoping you'll be able to help me answer...

My phone came with a 2gb microSD, and I've started adding apps, and playing around with it. However, I intend to switch to a 16gb microSD as soon as I'm able. Will my settings and app downloads all go out the window when I switch cards? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm kind of a newbie.

Also, I used to have a really basic Nokia, so when I switched my SIM over to the LG Optimus, I just saved all my numbers to the SIM card and put it inside the LG.

My LG now has all the numbers from the SIM card (often with multiple entries for the same individual, you know how it goes), as well as all my Gmail contacts, with the email addresses.

Is there an easy way to combine all the different entries for one person into one big entry?

Thanks for reading!

Hey there,
Regarding the microSD card, my first inclination would be to suggest that you just copy everything to a folder on your computer, then back onto the larger card, however I'm not sure that this'll actually work, but you might want to try it anyway (if you haven't already). Perhaps I'll leave this question to someone more savvy to field.

With respect to your contacts, if your address book now has your gmail contacts, you've loaded your gmail account onto your phone. Go to http://www.google.com/contacts on your computer, and log into your account. All of the contacts from your phone should be synced, and it should be a two-way link. Here, you can combine entries, correct them, et cetera. If you wish to not have all of your gmail contacts in your address book (I didn't, because it included craigslist e-mails that I'd contacted only a couple of times), you can edit the sync groups in the settings menu when you've brought up your contacts.

Hope this helps!

Kurt

LG Eve

The LG Eve was leaked on LG's own website through the User Agent Profile. Listing the device as having an "Android Webkit" browser, its pretty obvious that the Eve has Android. Other known specs include a QWERTY keyboard, 320×48... Read More
