Default No data transfer over 4G network on EVO 3D

I have scoured this forum and the internet searching for a fix, or even just a diagnosis for this problem yet to no avail. I normally pick up a good 4G signal from both the upstairs rooms in my house and at work (which is several miles away, a good 40 minute drive from home). However, over the past 2 days, when I turn on my 4G antenna, the phone connects to sprint and still tells me I have a good signal yet is incapable of connecting to the internet. The 3G antenna still works, but does not allow me to send a solid internet connection via wifi tether, as this is currently my only option for internet at home. Using rooted EVO 3D stock ROM, gingerbread 2.3.4...

Note: 4G had been working fine since August when I purchased the phone, issue arose in the last 2 days. Also, do not have insurance and the warranty is voided since I had to use HTC's hboot unlock for hboot v 1.50, so any do-it-yourself type fix would be wonderful. I can replace hardware if absolutely necessary.

have you contacted sprint tech to ask if its an issue within your area? they are supposedly upgrading their network and this could be growing pains from that.

first line of defense is to make sure the network in your area is solid, then work your way back to the ROM. if you have not seen any other info about this then it may be possible the issue is local to you.

I have contacted sprint tech support and spent a good hour with them. They are not aware of an issue with the local towers. They also had me run the PRL and profile updates and pull the battery from the phone for a minute. I have also tried turning airplane mode on and off waiting for all connections to reset.

If you rooted via htc and flashed a rom not booting to recovery through fastboot that is 100% your problem

HTC Evo 3D Rooting Essentials [official thread]

The phone has been rooted for at least a month now with no problems.

Another sprint tech informed me that there have been some issues with HTC's updates and that this may be the car with my phone.

I followed the instructions from the links on the first post to the most minute detail, and the phone has been working fine for the month or so following the rooting.

Consider this one case closed. I'm shocked at how long it took for a sprint tech to realize there has been problems with the 4g network for the past couple days in my area; everyone save this last tech sounded pretty confident that there were no outages... Sheesh

I'm afraid I was misinformed. Just tested the 4G on my boss's Samsung epic and he has no issues (8 mbps vs my lack of data connection). Only thing I can think of is the possibility that the recent HTC update has had an impact on my phone's 4G...

What does your bootloader say word for word? Root and OTAs don't mix

If that's the case then I need to reverse the update. Bootloader says:

*** UNLOCKED ***
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.50.0000
eMMC-boot
Aug 7 2011, 10:21:40

Most of my posts above were made off my phone using the 3G data connection, so it's not bricked...

You NEED to flash a rom/kernel from recovery through fastboot to see of that's your issue, does your wifi work?

Everything I can find on flashing radio ROMs tells me that I would need S-OFF in order to flash one, which is impossible since the hboot that came with my phone is 1.50. Does that mean I am to remain without the use of 4G WiMAX until an S-OFF exploit is found for my bootloader?

I'm having the same issues on my EVO 3D. 4G is very strong where I live. I rooted my phone with hboot 1.50 and I install everything the right way with fastboot usb and booting the recovery before I install anything. Anyways... my 4G was working well even after I rooted and all of a sudden stopped. 4G connects and shows full bars but there is no internet or data exchange. My wife has the evo 4G and her 4G is fine. I saw other posts where other people were having this issue in Boston not too far from where I live and said it was sprint. I called sprint and they confirmed that there were 4G issues that may effect some phones but not all. I dont know how much I should trust that response but that's what the lady said. We'll see. I called yesterday and as of today it''s still doing the same thing.

I thought if your phone is rooted your not supposed to accept any updates... or is that just for software? I can try that but the fact that it's a known sprint issue, Ill just wait.

Besides you jay, I personally know at least 2 other people besides myself in the Essex county area having the same issue. I guess Mass just isn't the place to own an EVO 3D this month...
