HELP! Infinite loop, landscape and touchscreen issues.
Hey everyone
Looking for someone that can help me.
I live in Mexico and recently got an EVO3d from sprint, I took it to my local repair store to unlock it so I could use it with my carrier, after a few days the store guy told me he couldnt get the phone to activate on the network so he did a factory reset and after this he got stuck on the infinite loop thing Ive seen some guys have problems with. He then took it to this other guy who, to my knowledge installed the stock rom again and after this the first guy was able to activate the phone. I got it on like 4 days ago and today I started expiriencing problems with 3 things. first I noticed that when I turned my phone off or did a reboot it got stuck in the infinite loop thing and only after several tries with different methods it would start correctly, then the second problem was the phone would no longer change screen orientation when turned to landscape mode I tried several apps and only the ones that had the option for landscape mode would change like gameboid but text and pictures wouldn't change at all. Third and probably worst of all is some of the touch buttons wont work depending on the area of the screen for example when taking a picture and then trying to choose the preview thats on the lower left corner of the screen it wont work. It also has issues when unlocking and generally when trying to select options that are around the middle of the screen. The phone isn't rooted and hboot 1.50.0000 is installed, after unlocking the phone the system was updated from HTCs part in case that has anything to do. I'd give you more details but as of this moment I can't turn on the phone
I used the phone around 2 weeks before unlocking it and had no problems at all, it worked like a charm. Its really frustrating and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and cheers
Ps. Sorry for my bad english

Your phone is rooted and it seems like a rom issue. is there an app called superuser installed? do you know if there is a recovery installed?
superuser is not installed and I dont think there is a recovery either, I have rooted a couple of phones in the past and none looked like this one, then again I'm not a rooting expert. I considered installing another rom to see if that fixed the problems but have no idea which one and the necessary steps
If they installed the stock ROM after unlocking the bootloader, you wouldn't have super user. So I'm going to move this into the All Things Root subforum and post some ROMs for you to download and try to install.
----- Now that the thread is moved.
Ok, so the links:
I recommend Scott's very good CleanROM to start. I'd recommend downloading the bottom link, CleanROM 2.9.5 to just get you going.
So, I assume you can get into your bootloader? If you don't know how, turn off the device then hold volume down + power. If it doesn't work, pull out the battery and try again. Fastboot can interfere with it.
Next, select recovery. Do you have a custom recovery? If so, we're good. If not, I'll have to dig up those instructions. But you should. Clear the cache, dalvik, and probably would be a good idea to just wipe everything (except sd card!). Then flash CleanROM. Let your phone boot. It'll take awhile, so don't freak. Also, wifi and 4g won't work just yet, so don't freak on that, either.
When you get Android working, use FlashGUI to flash the kernel in CleanROM's zip file. It'll want to reboot after. Reboot and you should be good.

Thanks for the help
I've been using the bootloader to try and get past the infinite loop and the thing is if I turn off the phone, no matter the battery percentage, it goes into that infinite loop and when I start it on bootloader and choose recovery nothing happens it just starts again with the htc logo turns off then starts again at the htc until I remove the battery. Is there a workaround for this?
Ok, I have an idea. Do you have the ability to put a file on the SD card? Either directly on a SD card reader or use an alternative device? You can also buy USB to MicroSD card converters for cheap. You need to be able to put a recovery image on the SD card.
Skip down to where it has a link to TWRP Recovery, download that and put it on your SD card. Put the SD card back into your phone and go into the bootloader. With your USB cable hooked up to the computer, open a command shell (Run > cmd) and navigate to your fastboot directory in the Android SDK. Should be something like C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\tools\. Then type fastboot and the computer should link to the phone. Then type:
