Default Why isn't there a faq sticky

I'm trying to learn how to root so I can get the free wifi tether. But my first android and have no idea what i'm doing and afraid of breaking it. But would love you long time if you made a FAQ to help educate us people that have no idea what we're doing.

There's no FAQ cause there's several ways to root and dozens of rom's and kernal's ect. Way to much information to make an all in one FAQ. If you read through the forum you'll find all the information needed. Just might have to read more than one post...

I think there does need to be an FAQ, at least a preliminary one. Twice in the past hour people have posted on separate threads about how to backup their phone to prepare for rooting. Basic things like that, in addition to some links to XDA, would probably prevent a lot of clutter and repeated questions here.

Agreed!!

I'm rooted but there definitely needs to be at the very least a basic FAQ explaining some of the most common questions or explaining some of the terminology. I see no downside to this.

i do agree at least sticky a link to this thread [TUTORIAL] EVO Full Root|OTA Root|Nand Backup/Restore|Flashing|for n00b's + videos - xda-developers

or if they would sticky that over at xda.

it includes a couple of methods and post 2 has some answers to common errors, some faq's and some videos.
