Default setcpu losing scaling values

Everything has been running great with Myn 2.2, netarchy cfs havs more smartass, and setcpu set to smartass scaling until this morning when I tried to get rid of the immediate battery % drain and executed a battery stat wipe. Now, setcpu continually changes min/max values as well as the scaling. It seems to like to jump back to "on demand" and lowers max value to around 880 even though the widget still reads 1119 max. it will also max out the current speed and seem to stick when i change the scaling as well. any ideas? or should i just wipe and start over?

used clockworkmod for the battery stat wipe.

In setcpu - menu->Device Selection. That will determine the kernel defaults like it did when you first installed setcpu. From there, set your min/max where you like (it should be back on smartass), then select set on boot if not already set. Go ahead and turn the phone off and back on to see if it sticks.

Works perfectly again. I had to uninstall setcpu through app monster, then uninstall + wipe data in titanium backup (including backup), recover in clockwork, wipe cache and dalvik, reflash kernal, download and install setcpu from market, autodetect, set on boot, reboot, and it is back to where it should be. Thanks.

My only concern is that right before i went to recovery, my battery was at 64%. Once I rebooted everything, it turned on at 76%. Not a battery expert, but that can't be good.

Yeah, I was going to suggest you uninstall it next. You may have gone through a few extra steps, but that's great that you got it working again.

Don't worry about the battery percentage being different. It's a calculation based on a lot of different things. If it's higher than it was before you rebooted, it will probably drop a little quicker and stabilize.

Problem came back. Seems to happen when the phone sleeps for a bit. Will change from "smartass" back to "on demand" with a significantly lower max (around 880) even though the widget reads 1119 max. Then when I move the slider bar up, the current speed locks at that value.

not sure if it is the kernal or a setcpu, but gonna keep searching

Sounds to me like you have something conflicting with it. Do you have any other apps installed that could change it? There are a number of them. How about the collin_ph battery tweak?

Great thought, and you are right. I loaded Myn 2.2 through ROM manager before I understood Clockwork and Amon and did choose collin_ph as an addon. Any way to get rid of it once it's installed? Looked through all my files on the sd card and can't find anything. Thinking wipe and start a new Myn?

You don't have to start over. Here is the actual post for it from xda:

[MOD] Collin_ph Battery Tweak For EVO By Myn - xda-developers

Run batt-cfg from a terminal and use option 4 to disable it. I believe there are other ways, but this seems like the most direct. You also have the option to keep it, but don't use it with any combination of HAVS, the smartass governor, or setcpu. As you can see, they conflict with each other.

I also checked the collin_ph battery tweak add-on box when installing myn's and have seen some of the signs of potential conflict when using setcpu (I've never used it before so I didn't know what it was and wasn't supposed to do). How exactly do you get to the "terminal" to disable??

Install a terminal emulator if you don't have one. I use:

Android Terminal Emulator - Android app on AppBrain

but there are many others.

Type su to switch to the root user, then type batt-cfg.

This is the actual installation guide:

[GUIDE][UPDATE] Try the battery tweak with Myn's RLS3! - xda-developers

Between the two posts I've linked to, there should be enough information to disable it. If you'd like to keep it, use netarchy nohavs instead of havs without setcpu.

EDIT: and if you do keep it, read both posts thoroughly to make sure it's working correctly.
