Default Upgrading Rom: Full wipe vs flash over

I've got Fresh 3.4.0.1 and I updated to it by just Flashing over (no need to install apps again, etc...) Now that 3.5.0.1 is out, I was wondering:

Is there any advantage to a fresh wipe and reinstall the apps vs just 'updating' to the new firmware?

Flash over it just wiping cahce and dalvik.. If you run into any issues, reflash and wipe data, cahce and dalvik. Unless the threat for fresh says to wipe everything prior. Worst case, you get bootloops.

Personally, I would start fresh, especially if you upgraded without wiping in the last update, too, but that's just me. Per the thread, you don't need to wipe data. Basically, if everything runs fine, don't worry. If you run into issues, it can be hard to troubleshoot if you didn't start fresh. That's really the only benefit of wiping when you don't have to.
