Question Accidentally deleted amazon mp3...

So I used Z4root to temp root my phone, I have no need for a full root, I just like to be able to use my cache cleaner widget to clear all my cache's at once, hotspot tether, and stuff like that.

I was playing around with titanium backup and accidentally deleted my amazon mp3 app, so I reinstalled it from a backup I made and then decided I didn't need the free version of titanium because I couldn't freeze apps with it as I intended to (and am not paying 6 bucks for that app right now)

I uninstalled it. Then later on I realized I had 2 icons for amazon mp3, I figured this was from reinstalling from the backup earlier that day. I have LP so I dragged one of the icons down and held it there to uninstall it. (love that feature of LP)

And now amazon mp3 doesn't show up at all!

I don't need the app, I've never even opened the stupid app, BUT I've read that some OTA updates can be affected if you're missing stock apps.

Will this be reinstalled if need be, by doing a factory reset on the phone?

I really could care less that it's gone, I just don't want anything getting messed up if the file is gone forever from the phone.

The app is not necessary to run the phone. Its just an add on. You can get it back by running the RUU. But that will break root.

I'm not sure what the RUU is, but I didn't root by regular means, I use the z4root app one click root. It's just temp root, when my phone is restarted it's back to being unrooted until I run the z4root app again.

I'm not a total rooting newbie, I rooted my moment in the past and switched roms from one to another, but I don't feel the need on my evo. That being said, I have no idea what any of the roms or anything are for/called the evo. lol.

RUU is Rom update utility. If you root it and flash the stock rom, it will have the app in the rom.

I haven't flashed anything, basically all that app (z4root) does is give root permissions for certain app use.

Anyway, I DL'd titanium again and it found the file, it must have just been hidden somehow. I found it, updated and and then re-hid it using LP's hifde app option.

Thanks for the help!

Lol. I'm the opposite. That was one of the first things I deleted when I rooted.

I'm glad Myn's rom comes with those as optional apps to install if you want. Never clicked on that app once since I've had it since launch. Did not realize how much bloatware was on this phone until I rooted and was able to remove what I wanted.

When I rooted my moment (really rooted it, using a USB and all that), I deleted all of those bloatware apps, but since looking into rooting the evo, I keep reading that completely removing bloatware is bad and can affect OTA updates.

I'm debating on paying for titanium pro so that I can freeze those apps, I just don't know if I want to pay the six bucks, lol. I'm cheap!

Well when you are rooted, don't worry about OTA updates. Updating can lose your root. I would not want that at all. Whatever rom you are on, will usually incorporate that OTA into their newest release.

Like I use Myn. Rls5 will be based on the newest 3.7 update I believe. Now that I'm rooted, I ignore all updates and actually turned it off to where it doesn't even check.
