Default Excessive battery use. Lasts maybe 10 hours

Something is going on with my phone and I can't figure it out....

Been running Myns since RLS3 (including 4 BETA and 5 BETA Nightlies).

Only since upgrading to RLS5 has my battery life gone SERIOUSLY downhill. On the BETA nightlies, it was great.

I am running RLS5 and (as required) radio 2.15.00.11.19, PRI 1.90_003, and PRL 60674..

I have tried the stock #15 kernel included with RLS5, I have tried Ziggys, and I am now on Netarchy more havs smartass.

I thought maybe it was bluetooth. Nope. Had it turned off yesterday and today. No 4G.

Upon checking Current Widget, there is a CONSTANT draw of approx 242ma up to 556ma. Sometimes dips to 88ma.

Checking Spare parts, 81.1% of the battery use is Running, 3.5% is Screen on, and Phone on is 0.3%.

Something is running in the background and I can't figure it out.

I tried downgrading to PRI 1.73_001 as some have suggested but it never took. I am stuck at 1.90_003.

Any other suggestions?

Ohh, Maybe I should add that I have reloaded the ROM 3 times (wiping cache and data in between), I have reloaded the radios, and I have tried the 3 kernels listed above.

The first ROM reload, I did not wipe data but I did cache (3x). That did not help, so I wiped cache and data, and reinstalled all apps and data via Titanium.

The last time, I wiped cache and data and reloaded ONLY contacts.

No luck in any scenario.

1) Take the next step in spare parts, and check partial wake usage (drop down where it says "other usage". That should show you what it's been running so much.
2) How did you try to downgrade PRI (recovery/version)?

EDIT: I didn't refresh before posting this. Still try the above, but are you saying that you tried even without all your apps restored? Let's see what spare parts says under partial wake usage. Plug the phone in, unplug it, then let it sit for a couple ours. Check partial wake usage after that.

I had the same problem during the releases of RLS 2 and 3. See my post in this section.

guys..I haven't had the issue...but netarchy has added to his thread on xda that pri 1.90 has been suspected of causing inexplicable battery/wake issues. The suggested fix is to downgrade to 1.77

subscribing to this. I've been battling this lately and I'm quite sure that I didn't used to get such bad battery life. I've resorted to turning off data to save battery.

Downgrading my pri to see if that makes a difference.

Downgrade your PRI and NV from 1.9 to 1.77. That helped me out a ton

Report back and tell me if that helps. Hope it does! I know this feeling all too well.

Effing Facebook....

Thank you Akazabam. I checked Partial Wake usage and the bar was all Facebook. I completely uninstalled facebook and all is well. I unplugged this morning and after 16 hours of being unplugged i have 68% battery remaining.

It's weird though because before I always had the facebook widget running on screen two and never had a problem. Oh well, I can live without FB on my phone.

Thanks again Akazabam

No problem. You can always try reinstalling it see if it still does it. What version did you have?

I got rid of facebook at 1.3 because it installs itself as a service, wont shut off and had wakelock issues from the beginning. Couple that with the app is basically just a redirector to the mobile site I didnt see a reason for facebook.

But thanks to all on the PRI thing, if I feel RLS5 is draining fast then I will try the older PRI.

azakabam, I'm sorry, I don't know what version I had. But I am so glad I did away with it.

Before (as I said above) the phone would barely last 10 hours (on standby) and it would be dead.

Now, according to battery statistics, I am at 3 hours of standby, 44 minutes of awake time, 88% left.

According to Spare Parts, 6.2% running and 4% screen on. On partial wake usage, the bars barely even register yet.

I am doing MUCH better now..

Sounds good. You're certainly not the first to have this problem with facebook.

FYI I rolled back the PRI/NV and its back to reality. Before I never saw phone idle or cell standby but since rolling back the phone is spending time idle and, at least upon short inspection, getting better battery life. Its gonna take days to compare to RLS4 but its instantly better than it was at first with RLS5 because in 6 hours it would be in the red.
