Wanted to put together a thread for information and download links for the widely used ROMs and Kernels. If you have any links for various downloads you would like to share just post them and I'll add to the OP.
[scripts] Unvisible TweaksF
(This script includes the following: sd card speed booster increases the read/write speed of the sd card to 4096kbps, juwes ram script increases your ram by killing unused background processes and such, and sick tweeks just increases general speed of general android processes).
Calkulin's Format All: Flash prior to flashing ROM. It will wipe everything for you including /system, which normal data wipes skip (they only wipe /data and /cache)
If you guys appreciate the work of the developers please make a donation to show your appreciation. They give a lot of their own time to develop and support these ROMs and Kernels for the community. Thanks!!!
these are roms that are still in betas and may or may not have everything working. there will be most likely bugs and plenty of things wrong with the rom. also with these roms please read the op for further instrructions and also for know bugs or issues.

The problem with all (or most) of the flashable stock kernels you'll find is that they are provided as a boot.img. Pretty much every custom ROM out there has a modified boot.img. Unless the ROM is stock or meant to be stock with very, very few changes, you should not flash a kernel packaged this way, or you will undo some changes. For example, if a custom ROM supports a2sd, even if it comes with the stock kernel, there are modifications done to the boot.img to support a2sd. If you flash a custom kernel, then flash a stock kernel that is just packaged in a boot.img, you'll break a2sd. That being said, if you happen to find any stock kernels out there, I highly recommend you not suggest people flash them unless they are on a completely stock ROM. I do remember myn providing a flashable version of HTC #17 in modular format (what you want; not packaged in a boot.img), but I can't seem to find it now. Anyway, you can tell pretty easily if a flashable zip is just a boot.img or not. Just open it. If there is just a zip file at the top level, and in that zip is a boot.img file, then it's going to flash a whole boot.img. If you open the flashable zip, and it has just a directory named kernel or something like that, and in that directory are other files, but no boot.img to be found, you should be fine.
All that being said, what users need to do is just flash their current ROM without wiping data to get the stock kernel (or whatever came with the ROM) back. That will undo all other mods, but it's the easiest way. Another option would be to take the boot.img out of the flashable zip of your current ROM, package it in a flashable zip, then just flash it. That would certainly do the trick, but it would be really impractical to make flashable zips for all ROMs and versions.
In any case, it's not impossible to make a flashable zip that has just the stock kernel, but someone with more knowledge than me would have to make it, and I haven't seen any others out there beyond HTC #17. Those that know how to do it always just suggest to reflash your current ROM, anyway.

Reason: because
Since I got kind of confused earlier, I'd say change or add Kings Unleashed Ultra R2. I thought Ultra Froyo Unleashed was different than R2, which is the newest version of the Ultra Froyo ROM.
Thanks for posting this great thread. I was wondering about CPU tuning. I would like to underclock while the screen is off to save battery. I've been using Netarchy CFS more HAVS and getting good results with that.
I tried CPU tuner but didn't notice any improvement. Is setCPU worth the $2? Also, I think I read that you shouldn't use CPU tuning with a HAVS kernel. Is this true?

If you select the link for the direct download from my links it should bring you to the mirror site. I believe the mirror lists the newest releases at the top. CM7 is still on nightly releases so there's no official stable release yet. That's why you see so many versions for CM7. In theory the newest links should be the most stable.

You should add Ultimate Droid to AOSP roms. I know Cyanogen had some soap opera about not hearing a thank you or something, but it's uniquely different than CM, but retains alot of the things people love about CyanogenMod.
Thanks for this useful post Stechva, great idea. It's always good to have a reference to point new forum members to. The only qualm I have with your post is you have the link to download SetCPU for free on here. I know the Dev asks that people purchase SetCPU from the market or donate if they like in his XDA thread, but how many people actually do??? In your post, can you please refer them to the Market, or recommend forum members who download it from XDA to donate to the Dev if they like their work? At least that way, you've done your part.
And to take it a step further, that goes for the ROM's too. Forum members, if you like the Devs work and would like them to continue making awesome ROM's for us, please donate.
Keep up the good work Stechva!

The majority of us know the location of XDA's ROM Wiki and how to get there, just like you can find rooting guides all over the internet. I believe the purpose of this post is to keep everything under "one roof" so it's much easier for new rooters to reference.

yeah i agree frenchy. it is nice to have it here on this forum for new and old rooters. plus that wiki is old and it has not been updated in awhile. and stevcha is good at adding anything new or suggested.
thanx stevcha!

Rom wiki doesnt have kernels, or convenient links to things like format all either. Rom wiki may be fine for people in the know but im more comfortable pointing noobs here because rom wiki is a catch all including uncommon & out of date roms.
Yeah thanks again. I have pointed many people to this thread, its very handy.

Stevecha I need your help. I was going to flash my first rom but first I performed Calkulin's_FORMAT_ALL and after that I pressed reboot and it took me into the the fastboot menu. Where do I go from here?

What about adding the DESTROYER ROM... i'm hearing good things about it so far. Thanks for putting this together it really does give those of us new to rooting a place to search for more information and learn as much as possible. I will add a link.
Nice list btw, I have a suggestion now. Since the list is growing, I would suggest doing a 4G list for sense roms and non 4G rom list. Maybe like a subsection. Do this also for AOSP roms.
I know sometimes for me, I won't flash a non 4G rom just for preference since I live in a 4G area. Other times I have that flashing bug and I'll flash anything
Just a thought
