Let me put it this way. Are you doing this for the sake of having a custom ROM or are there other motived behind it?

Sprint Lovers ROM is almost identical to Sense with some "added features." EM recommended it to me (Thanks EM), it works nice if you want a stock-like experience.

Let me pose another question. Have you looked through some yourself and just can't decide or is this an attempt for people to put a list together so that you don't have to?

here is why I ask. People will have a tendancy to just list their favorite. I like Myn's RLS5, as can be seen in my device info. I haven't tried them all, but this has been my favorite so far (out of maybe five or so). See where I am coming from? We sort of need to know what you want before we can go further.

As far as I know there is currently not a 2.3 ROM with sense out to the public from HTC. Custom roms with sense in them are essentially tweaks of official releases. It will take HTC to release Gingerbreads with Sines 2.0 for one of their devices to get what you are looking for.

I use Sprint Lovers and I like it a lot. Very smooth. No problems whatsoever. You can check it out at xda.

I'm running that uhh.... frick.

Kings modified version of CM7, basically. It's 2.3, and yes, it has issues. None that I can't live with.

Personally, the added stuff (and sprint-ware removal) is nice on CM7. I'm glad I chose to ditch sense all together. I can use a wii-controller for my emulators... I can do HDMI out mirroring now (huzzah!), 4G works now (selectively, but meh), etc.

[ROM][ACS] GB UNleashed 2point3 [GBU-3/20/11] " KING STYLE "

I am not a fan of these threads....we have a great group here and plenty of threads specific to each rom with tons of input good and bad....the dedication of one thread to repeat what is already there just seems silly. Just my . 02

but there you go. Kings gb... .its complete. It rocks

Since I'm a flashoholic I just flash away just to check out hoer I like the rom. Now for me I used to be a sense guy, but kings gb rom rocks. But good ones top try as far as sense goes would be mikfroyo 4.5 and kings ultra black r3. Great, stable, and fast. The only way to find out is to check them out. The list for most roms are in my sig. ref#2.

++1 ^^
I thought the first rom I flashed was the best, then the second... I must have flashed over 30 roms + its versions and at times thought every other one was my fav...

Gingerbread roms are very popular, but im not a big fan because it requires too much tinkering. gps used to work for me but not with the latest updates. I like optimized close to stock looking, slightly themed, fast, everything stable and working, theres roms like that out.

What i would suggest is if you see a rom that interests you check out its thread see what users are saying about it.

Gotta just flash away! then you learn more of what you would want in a rom.

If you like Sense but want to get rid of the bloatware and have a smoother experience, I'd recommend either MikFroyo or Myns Warm. Both very good. I am currently using MikFroyo and love it. I tried Cyanogen and it was not for me at all. Too much stuff missing that I got used to with Sense.

I have not tried SprintLovers yet.

Out of the 7 I've tried - my favorite by a long shot is VirusROM AirBouRne Series™.
█ VirusROM AirBouRne Series™ █ ◄●|21 MAR.|RC6PB1|●► █ [Froyo]●[2.2]●[3.70.651.1] █ - xda-developers

My next favorite is VaelPak 3.2 RC1.
[ROM] VaelPak 3.2 RC1 [03/06/11] - NonSense - [Net 4.3.1] - 3.70.651.1 - xda-developers

Others I have tried that worked good but just didn't wow me -
Koni's Elite II and Mik Froyo v4.5.

Definitely go for the Virus. Get Infected in a good way.

Might as well throw in a recommendation for Myn's WarmZ - I like it better than Koni/Mik rom's and its very nicely themed as well as fast.

If you want something truly different, you need to try MIUI as well.

And as usual, always nandroid and be safe!

I am currently running virusrom on my evo. And I love it, but it's only my 2nd rom. As I've only just entered the customrom world. But with Roms it's like going to buy a car, one guy may love the Toyota Prius, and the other guy may love the dodge challenger. It's all about what works good for you.

Obviously don't get any of the developer roms just starting out.

Common misconceptions and other useful information (Updated 10/12/2010) - xda-developers

Quote:
What ROM works best for me? I see this a lot.

Answer: I don't know, nor does anyone else. This is like asking your buddy at the party which girl you should try and hook up with.

You have to try a few because we all have our preferences. (ROMS, not the women!) Some like Sense, some hate it. Some want a stock ROM with added features, others want a totally customized ROM that is radically different that stock (like CM6). You know you have the right ROM when it has everything you want and everything you use works. You have to try as many as you can until you find the right one for you.

A better thing to do is tell people what you want in a ROM and ask what ROM they suggest after they get an idea of what you are looking for. Try their suggestions but still try a few that seem to be what you are looking for. The first post in all of the ROM pages on here have detailed information about the ROM; read up and find out what the ROM has to offer. If you need your phone for important stuff (like work), I highly suggest you do not use a RC (release candidate) or especially a Beta ROM (unless the description claims everything works). It may decide not to work at the worst possible moment!

If you are happy with your phone at stock yet want to have the benefits of being rooted with super user ability, use a stock ROM that is already rooted.

You also have to be aware that some ROMS can have issues. Sometimes stuff will not work when you try and use them (for example, 4G, HDMI, Cameras, and FM Radio to name a few). You really have to read the known problems and if it sounds like something you use will not work or if you want a completely 100% working device, do not use a ROM that says something is not working. Double that if it is something you use often.

Lastly, if you really want a ROM that has everything you want, you will have to learn how to make your own. Please do, I have released the second version of my ROM, feel free to check it out! (Link is in my signature)

Likely the wrong thread for help but we found ya...anyhow

What exactly did you do? rooted your phone, wiped everything? flashed cm7, rebooted, stuck? Battery pull, wont get past splash screen, wiped everything again? Did you make a nandroid back up after you rooted btw?

Can you get to hboot and recovery? Power off, hold down vol down+power, goes to hboot, does it say s-off? what radio does it say?

navigate to recovery, select it, what does it do? go to recovery?

Mr. Ed has a very valid point, not to sound like one of "those guys" but there have been a ton of threads about this... if you have specific ?'s about diffs between roms that you cant determine yourself, ask away, but i gotta say (and please dont take offense) but take some time to try a rom or 2 out. Make a nandroid b/u ALWAYS MAKE A B/U lol (sorry for yelling, but its that important ) and play around with em a lil bit. Some things youll want if youre gonna delve into the realm of rom flashing are quickboot(just makes it a lil faster of a process), Titanium backup(darn near necessary, sms backup/restore, and Amon Ra(amon is an alternative to clockwork, if youre unsure of what im talking about, lemme know) and get some rom zips.... i like Konis ESIII for sense, but i STRONGLY prefer CM7 which is non-sense aka AOSP... good stuff

I'll be back i have to leave the entire GE campus to smoke a cigarette, its a short 5 minute drive to smoke, 7 to smoke, and 5 to drive back....good thinking GE

LMAO!!!! i have OCD too!! ive taken 5 different SSRI's over the last 11 years of suffering with it, so i feel your pain man!! When i first rooted, i tried everevolv, but wasnt savvy enough at that time to know about the fact that its an AOSP rom, nor did i know that there was such a striking difference between sense and aosp. now that ive progressed a lil bit, i think ill give it a whirl i dunno why exactly(cuz i think theyre fare more similar than different in functionality) why i like AOSP better, but i just think its smoother and more funnerererer

Peas in a pod we are doofus lol. Its actually torturous for me to have this open at work and have people comment because i HAVE to click it, i dont even always read it, but i click it . Is your desk completely orthogonal too? My friends use to slightly set one thing like my phone cord off at an angle and wait for me to yell, who did it LOL Its why im an engineer, i live in the tedious...

It has some different functions, the beauty of aosp...i mostly like the stock launcher and its dock haha thats what got me to back it up and go ahead and try and set it up and see how it runs.

I also tried it when i first started and couldnt get the hang of it, it was in rom manager i think is how i ended up with it. I much more equipped now to make it run like a dream.

Indeed we are good sir! yeah, i used to have the need to have stuff at perfect angles n so forth, but my ocd has kinda mutated into the germ-a-phobe type of thing. I cant stand being touched by people or things that i didnt have direct control of or stuff thats been on the ground is totally outsky... I HATE OCD!! lol anyways, what do you know about idroid? my buddy just put it on his 1st gen ::forgive me for swearing:: ipod touch. Id love to twist that knife in Job's ribs a lil and put it on my 3rd gen (won it at work a lil over 2 years ago, whaddaya do? I jailbroke it, but i havent found a rom that i can flash to it.... nor a recovery method. I dont wanna brick it, and i cant seem to find ANYWHERE NEAR the support for it as the almighty EVO has... any idears?

Ive stopped taking the ssri's cuz theyre pointless... they mess with my stomache so bad i cant hardly eat without feeling sick, so i decided to continue trying to manage it myself, and its worked in some respects, but its still there... the drunk thing helps me too, but doesnt seem like a long term solution LoL anyhow, yeah i have 3 ipods from back when they were the best portable music player and won that stupid touch here at work. I have a zune too, but i also hate microsoft LMAO!!!! Ill check out the wiki on bootlace tonight after my tour in this hole is over for the day (stupid net nannys again LoL)

ohhh, by saying port from your desptop, youre referring to like a p2p transfer? as in evo being one peer and your computer being the other peer? or do you stream music from your computer to your evo using your computer as a server?
