My EVO only says 1X.....can anyone help me get it 3g signal.
Ps I am in a 3g signal. I used to have an optimus m with 3g signal all the time and I have prl 3026

If u have your phone provisioned already, (which it sounds like you do... You have data, right?) go back to that link I posted with the metro apns, and you will find a ton of cdma/dfs settings to get 3g working. Again, jd, the guy who runs that site it VERY helpful and actually helped me get 3g here in atlanta.

yea i have activated (activated it myself from my house, just paid someone to put my esn in the system) i have data working and mms but i only get 1X and im near downtown dallas so i know i have 3G cause of my optimus m. im going to take a look and mess aroound with some settings and see if i get it to work

well i changed every setting in qspt and updated my prl and everything i could do and im still at 1X ugh!

Sorry, I don't have miui scripts, and but if you look through XDA, and you can find a working link from mdiaz with the scripts. I don't remember what thread they're on. Sorry

Well I found what I was looking for but I won't be using it, it makes some.things force close and still don't have 3g

So I am running CM7 and just put the metrogenMod_update4.5. Everything is working great on my evo except my mms. I was reading your posts but I can't figure out which fix is for me :'( can someone point me in the right direction? That would be great! Lol Thank you!

MMS should be working, you dont need to flash anything else. you could try wiping everything and flashing it again. just make sure you wipe everything

I have tried to reflash 3 times! Wiped data, cache, and dalvik. Everything pretty much without wiping the whole phone. And still everything works like it should but sending and receiving MMS? any thoughts? I could really use the help! Thank you!
And yes my data is on! It is still set to S-off. I just can't figure it out :'( help please! ? ? ?

im running metrogenmod 4.5 right now and everything is working perfectly (including mms) i did have a problem with sending screenshots but pictures send perfectly.
if its still now working you can flash any other rom. im always running sense 3.5 roms and have mms working, all i do is flash mms fix and it works perfect.

That's what I was looking for was the right fix but the ones I tried didn't work. I also didn't know sprint mattered lol

well this rom is made to have mms for metro without a fix but i like the look of sense roms so im running a sense 3.5 rom and i flashed the mms fix and everything works perfectly.
and oh yea it doesnt matter if you have sprint thats why its called METROgen mod and thats why kelso did not give a warning on the OP

Gotcha. I was under the impression that the metropcs mod changed some of the MMS settings from sprint to metro. My bad.

I was just playing. It does matter. I got the thread confused with the other metrogen mod thread where he has the metro and sprint version and he writes a warning saying to only flash metrogen mod if you have metro. My bad lol
It does change the values. If you are on sprint there is kelsomod which is kelso's version of cm7 for sprint

Yea kelso has another thread where he has a metro and a sprint rom and I thought it was this one.

I found the Kelsomod and is working great! Thank you! No I am on sprint. I was under the impression that it did not matter if I had sprint. but I was wrong :-) but I had a quick question about its kernel. I found and flashed tiamat for it but when I go into my settings and look at my kernel version it says 2.6.37.6 cyanogenmod g0799e00. Shouldn't it say tiamat or something?

If you installed the kernal correctly, the kernal should be different/labeled differently in "about phone" what is your process for flashing? What recovery do u use? Amon ra is greatly recommended over clock work mod.

Simply boot into recovery,
1) wipe cache, wipe dalvik (wipe both twice to be sure.
2) Flash kernal (some people wipe cache/dalvik after kernal flash in addition to wiping before the flash)
3) reboot.
Go check 'about phone' in the software u should see updated kernal

I tried both clockwork and manually flashing. Neither worked. when I flash my roms they stay in my downloads file. what it make a difference if my kernels are in my downloads ? my process is the same as my Roms. create a backup. Wipe my caches. flash the new one and reboot.

When you flash a Rom you should be doing a LOT more wiping than when you flash a kernel. Caches aren't enough for a Rom.

Try redownloading the kernel

Yes! Please refer to the rooting for dummies guide/sticky in the evo section. It helped me immensely. It gives very clear instructions for all of these processes. Also, rxpert83, is amon ra still the preferred recovery?

after you write all your system info and spc's and all that with cdma workshop and qpst, what do i do next? do i flash a new rom and flash scripts? then call metro pcs? and if i do, is the esn number i give them going to work so i can talk and text and all that good stuff? HELP!!!

first you get someone to put your esn in the metropcs system (if you need someone let me know and i can help you) then you write all the information with cdma workshop and qpst, and finally flash a rom and scripts (if needed)

its always good to wipe EVERYTHING! i use superwipe before flashing a rom just so the rom runs as smooth as it can

I can't post any screenshots right now but its just like cm7 (because it is) just a metro version. If your ESN is already in the system you can add it to metro and only pay 40 a month

alexandroid, im finally on the evo with metro. but now i have a bigger problem..lol...i had flashed metrodroid v4 to my phone, and then it just started roaming, let me remind you, i was making phone calls on it at one point. any suggestions how to fix this?

Mikg, sos, synergy and many others have everything working. I've always had to flash the script, change the mms network settings, and then swap apns

Btw. Metrodroid 4.0 is a good rom to use first off. It already has mms working and u needn't flash any scripts or anything

hey guys this is a great thread for metrodroids so thanks alot! but i have a totaly newb question.. i have an evo4g still on sprint that i want to change to metropcs. i need to know the ABC's of doing this here's what i've done so far; rooted and s=off flashed metrodroid rom succesfully ran cdma workshop and qpst and made all the changes succesfully except for adding a MIN number since i dont have it yet i added my current cell number because i want it ported to metropcs. Q: is this phone ready to be added to metropcs network? ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED COOL FORUM!!! KARMAKID

All you need is someone to add your esn into the metropcs system and you're good to go
